Very simple and basic hotel, but clean. Rooms have very noisy air con, but no safe and no fridge. Staff were polite enough but not particularly welcoming. Good location for the fantastic nightlife in the Navigli area. Breakfast was standard continental - nothing too exciting.

Was told it was only 1 star, but was fantastic location, staff were so helpful, didn't mind that we wanted to take our bikes to our room. Room was simple but very nice, good ac, tidy, bed was huuuuge and very comfortable. Morning brekky was traditional and I loved squeezing my own juice. We were able to walk the 200m... More

I stayed at la Vignetta for two nights in December and was very comfortable - the hotel is charming. The room was small but well appointed and in excellent condition. Service was friendly, continental breakfast was plentiful, the location was really central and it was very good value. I thoroughly recommend it, and I will stay there again.

Lovely little hotel close to Via Torino and canal which was designed by Leonardo da Vinci. Beautiful little Gem. Run by the owners - friendly and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you Giulinao and Alessandra

Older hotel offering a great value near the canal district in Milan. Within easy walking distance of streetcar and metro stops. Great selection for the included breakfast. Wifi worked well from our room. Only downside was the room was a bit noisy because there was a streetcar right outside the window. We would return to this hotel again next time... More

Room had a great washroom with excellent water pressure. They allowed us to check in 2 hours early. Also printed our bus tour tickets for us. Bed was comfortable and there was nice air conditioning. Very nice place, breakfast consisted of cold juices, fresh coffee, croissants and other pastries and cereal. We'll be back!

This is a reasonably priced and adequate hotel in the Navigli area. The location is great. About 5 minutes from the main Navigli bars/restaurants and 10-15 minutes to a metro stop. The hallway and lobby are a little run down, with some stains on the carpet. My room was okay. The bedroom was actually pretty nice with new laminate wood... More

clean room, window can be opened (a tram depot down the street makes the start and end of the day a bit noisy), friendly staff, wifi working, close to tram, close to navigli... plenty of nearby food shopping opportunities, taxi from trainstation to hotel cost arpund 15-18 Euros, tram takes a bot long but possible, stayed 5 nights

My friend and I stayed at La Vignetta during Salone week. As expected we were subject to arbitrarily high room rates given the timing but we decided to go for it given the location (which I can safely say is the hotel's only saving grace). I can honestly say that as a paying customer I have never been subject to... More

Staying in Navigli

Neighborhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
