Found the hotel had a brilliant location right next to a department store as well as the Duomo. many other hotels such as the Gray and Armani are 2-10 minutes walk away. The Hotel Straf is cool and comfortable, nice staff and well designed rooms.

The hotel is in a great location to explore the center of Milan. The rooms are all very modern in style, comfortable and quiet. The staff were helpful during our staff with advising where to park and what to see.

There's a first time for everything. I've never been in a room before that is totally black. Walls, floors, phone, bathroom toilet& bidet, basin etc. The only items that weren't were the plumbing fittings, the sheets & towels. But it works - surprisingly. The minimalism continues at breakfast, the tables are tiny, the seats are small square pouffes - again... More

Great location next to the Piazza del Duomo. This is a quality upmarket hotel. Great service and good breakfast with a large choice. The management need to fix wifi but all of Italy has wifi problems. The bar is a bit noisy. If the bar has live music on the rooms above can get a little noisy

The hotel staff was excellent. They helped make a reservation at a restaurant they recommended which turned out to be good and fun for us (Ristorante il Coriandolo, but the people next to us were not as satisfied and felt their hotel recommended it and that it was for "sales.") Anyway, the hotel has a unique shower (the shower head... More

The location is superb and the design is beautiful, but absolutely not practical: no place to put your towels, very complicated operation of the shower and switching the lights, seats without back in the breakfast room... Wifi was free, but did NOT work: you have connection during three minutes and then it is gone for an hour. The signal is... More

Great location, just a few steps away from the Duomo. There is also a cool little bar on the ground floor where you can get a pretty decent aperitivo. The rooms and the whole establishment, as a matter of fact, is possibly a little bit too clinical looking and 'trying too hard'. The rooms are large and clean but not... More

dear customer, thank you for your comments and feed back! I believe design does get a very personal perception, our hotel reflects the idea of the unfinished, compromizes among different materials and the creativity of the architect which is given the meaning of art coming from semplicity. if you think of wook, concrete, burned glasses and iron he uses for... We had some issues with our stay, but the high rating is deserved for how they responded - they did the right thing quickly and without hassle. The best thing about the hotel is the location. We were only in Milan for one night so wanted stay very central - and you couldn't get more central than this. Steps from... More

Small and neat hotel with great location. Brought my daughter along and a single bed was converted from the sofa for her. My hubby found the room to be dusty which was true so I wet a towel and briefly clean the tables and bed side table. Overall satisfied

Straf was a fun hotel. The room was modern almost to the point of brutalism, with concrete walls and abstract art. The bathroom was gorgeous, completely lined with bronze and bronzed mirrors. The only drawbacks were that the room was quite small and the shower wasn't great: though it had a rain shower, it was placed so that a lot... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
