A small intimate designer hotel in an ideal location- a stones throw from Duomo and the wonderful La Rinascentre department store. Typical Milanese plumbing smells exist, however is compensated for by nice surrounds. (They also need to use less oil diffusers!). Try to get a package including breakfast-well worth it.Free wifi, and jacuzzi showers are also wonderful. Will definitely go... More

A wonderful little boutique hotel incredibly close to the Duomo. I was expecting the room to be tiny but it was gloriously large with a huge bath and bathroom (TV above the bath- hurrah!) and wonderfully tranquil. The perfect antidote to a busy, bustling city. We loved being able to pop back during the day. The decor was modern but... More

My husband and I arrived at The Gray on Good Friday and stayed until Easter Sunday. The taxi was unable to drop us off at the door, as there was roadworks directly outside, so we walked down apprehensively. There was really no need, from the moment of arrival the staff were friendly and efficient, the lobby is clean and impressive.... More

Brilliant location with views over the Galleria and Duomo. Our room was HUGE. Enough light switches and electronic curtain controls that it needs its own manual. Well designed room with a very comfy bed and a ginormous bath. Great

The lighting over the sink was poor. The door chair had been broken and reattached to the door.(that doesn't make you feel safe). The water bottle had a tag $1.50 if you drank it. We were there for a funeral.

If you take a left from the front door of this hotel, you are 25 steps from the Duomo. If you walk straight ahead, you walk right into the Galleria toward La Scala. The decor is chic, including the wall coverings, fabrics and lighting. We had great service from Leonardo in the small cocktail lounge. I will try to attach... More

We stayed in few hotels in central Milan, including in the Staf across the street. But the Grey is truly the best we've seen, amazing room, extra large bathroom, even a sauna. There's also a large dressing room and the bed and bed linen were perfect. The breakfast was good, nothing spectacular but fresh and nice quality. The only downside... More

Worst hotel ever!! Do not book this hotel! When I arrived at the reception they told me they were overbooked and they had to move into a different hotel, with NO prior notice. The hotel they moved me to was still owned by them, however it was a 4 star hotel and the price of the room was half of... More

Have stayed in this delightful boutique hotel once before. Aside from the fact that the road was closed due to resurfacing or the like, it was equally as delightful as I remember. Not easy to find particularly as no real signage but fabulous position in the city. Rooms were very stylish and comfortable and we were given an upgrade which... More

Just spent a wonderful weekend in Milan for saint-valentines day. Stayed at the Gray for the second time and can only say that it was a wonderful experience. Simply said, there is no better location in Milan, right by the Duomo. We got upgraded upon check-in a junior suite which was lovely and great value for money. The hotel is... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
