Looks like that it is very easy to get stars for hotels in Milan. Reception, lobby (there is none) dining room room sizes are far away from a 5 star hotel but it says that it is 5 Star hotel. Its only advantage it is centrally located. It is at Duomo and just behind La Rinascente. It can only be... More

The hotel is certainly in an ideal place - tucked around the corner from the Duomo in a street that is bustling during the day but quiet at night. It is also well decorated and modern. Unfortunately that is where it ends... a) it is well lit but untimely cramped and claustrophobic - the corridors are narrow, the breakfast room... More

I had a room booked in this hotel for 6 nights whilst in Milan for business. The initial thoughts when i arrived were that this is a small hotel (21 rooms in total) so the service is most likely to be impeccable. The reception desk always seems to be in subdued lighting. The staff are attentive and will try to... More

This hotel was recommended by a colleague. Perfect location on the heart of Milan, steps away from the Duomo and center of town. Beautiful rooms, each one unique. I stayed with two other colleagues, all three rooms were beautiful. Ample amenities, clean and comfortable. Restaurant on site, serves a fantastic breakfast buffett. Dinner was very limited, but your are literally... More

Absolutely unbeatable location on the footsteps of Duomo, Palazzo Reale and Galleria. Very small property in the very heart of Milano. Small sized rooms but still trendy in design. Smart and helpful daytime staff.

The Gray hotel is perfectly placed in the heart of Milan right next to the Dumo and La Scala. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the staff are extremely attentive and very helpful in ensuring you get reservations at the best restaurants. This is the place to stay for a short break

A small intimate designer hotel in an ideal location- a stones throw from Duomo and the wonderful La Rinascentre department store. Typical Milanese plumbing smells exist, however is compensated for by nice surrounds. (They also need to use less oil diffusers!). Try to get a package including breakfast-well worth it.Free wifi, and jacuzzi showers are also wonderful. Will definitely go... More

A wonderful little boutique hotel incredibly close to the Duomo. I was expecting the room to be tiny but it was gloriously large with a huge bath and bathroom (TV above the bath- hurrah!) and wonderfully tranquil. The perfect antidote to a busy, bustling city. We loved being able to pop back during the day. The decor was modern but... More

My husband and I arrived at The Gray on Good Friday and stayed until Easter Sunday. The taxi was unable to drop us off at the door, as there was roadworks directly outside, so we walked down apprehensively. There was really no need, from the moment of arrival the staff were friendly and efficient, the lobby is clean and impressive.... More

Brilliant location with views over the Galleria and Duomo. Our room was HUGE. Enough light switches and electronic curtain controls that it needs its own manual. Well designed room with a very comfy bed and a ginormous bath. Great

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
