I normally go for high-end, boutique hotels and Antica Locanda is quirkier than what I'm used to but I loved this place. It's an attractive, homey but reasonably stylish hotel with a character all its own. The staff are wonderfully helpful and the breakfast is great. I've stayed here twice and I will definitely go back.

Our family of 4 had an apartment on the second floor that was spacious. PROS: The location is central, staff is helpful, rooms are well kept and clean and the wifi is strong. CONS: No soundproofing, so very noisy from 6:00 am on. Bathroom is lacking--very little counter space, thin towels, no toilet paper holder. Friday's at 6:00am is garbage/recycling... More

We stayed for two nights at this small hotel located on the first floor. There is a lift after climbing about seven steps to the hotel. Breakfasts were good and our room had a shower. The position in the centre of Milan near the castle and cathedral was ideal and we would stay again if we return to Milan. Staff... More

A top location to visit Milan ! We had a spacious room with a lot of light. Pay attention that there are also rooms with no view at all (inner-court). So ask in advance when you book. The people at the reception are very kind, flexible and helpful. Breakfast is rather basic. In general it's a nice stop to visit... More

This is a lovely B&B in the heart of town. We stayed for three days and found the staff very accommodating in answering all questions and helping with our needs. We drove there and upon arrival they took all our baggage and took the car and parked it for us so we did not have to bother with it for... More

Spent a couple of days with my wife in Milan. We both enjoyed this splendid hotel, it is at the heart of the city, while in a quiet Street. Got a room with a terrace and really enjoyed the outside seating área. Breakfast in the room if terrace is a must. Loved it!!

Fabulous Location !!!! Lovely living room, with french doors to terrace, fresh flowers every day . Nice bedroom and marble bath, walk in closet . Very clean and quite.Very good service from front desk. Free wi-fi. Nice breakfast. Walk to everything ;Duomo, La Scala, museums, restaurants ,shopping. Reception is on second floor of building so it can be perplexing to find.

This was our second stay here and the hotel has been expanded and renovated since our 2004 stay. There is now a very large contemporary reception area and breakfast room. Our room was on the third floor - the Terrace Classic. The flowered terrace was as large as the room. The room was very contemporary with an oddly patterned ceiling.... More

Whilst not obvious from the street this is a gem of a boutique hotel. Small but amazing and quiet. Stayed 3 nights. We had room 31 with a fantastic terrace with a multitude of flowers and shrubs which provided the perfect place for sitting and having a drink and for the room service breakfast. Rooms very good size and spotless... More

I stayed here for one night with my mom in preparation for a week long Tuscan tour, and this hotel was the best starting point for our first Italian experience. Reading prior reviews, we were already prepared for the hidden entryway and the stairs to the lobby and room. The staff reception and care was impeccable - the front desk... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
