The location was grand, near Duomo. the staff, particularly the night receptionists were great. I stayed in a large single room with an extra long and wide mattress for a single. I am tall and the bed was comfortable for me. recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Milano. Hope to stay there again.

Everything about this hotel and staff was wonderful!! We arrived on an early train and they already had a room ready for us and allowed us to enjoy the breakfast buffet immediately. It was a family vacation and they had all our rooms together. The breakfast buffet was amazing along with all the drinks in the refrigerator in the room... More

Excellent hotel, close to all the sights in Milan, including Duomo, Brera and Sforzesco Castle. Every staff is very friendly and Courteous. The Wi-Fi is excellent, fast. We had a good time in the Gran Duca di York Hotel. I really recommend it.

Everything about the Hotel Gran Duca di York was absolutely wonderful! My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon and we couldn't have asked for a better location, room, or service (especially for the price)! The hotel is both very close to the Duomo but also in a quiet secluded street. You can't beat the free breakfast, wifi, and... More

If you're looking for a lovely, small hotel in a perfect location, look no further. The Gran Duca di York is a well managed, clean, attractive hotel in a location that can't be beat. I was extremely comfortable during my stay and pleased with the experience that began with check-in at an early hour all the way through to my... More

Great location, quiet but close to Duomo and Cathedral and great shopping. Breakfast was really enjoyable and all the staff were very helpful. Only downside is the walls are paper thin, but would highly recommend.

Our family stayed at this cosy little hotel in early August. At check in the staff made us feel welcome, the lobby was cosy and the other guests/staff all contributed to a friendly atmosphere. The location is incredible. The front desk staff were helpful with bookings and general Milan intel. Breakfast was a surprisingly large spread and rather good (... More

For the locale, value and service, this place is a 10. It's ultra-quiet, yet within seconds you're at the Duomo. The staff was super helpful. A woman made about eight phone calls to get us a last second table at a quality restaurant. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms very clean. Highly recommended.

The Gran Duca di York is only a five minutes walk from the central sights and shopping areas of Milan. The room was of a good size, well furnished with a good bathroom, although the doors into the shower are a bit of a squeeze if you are a slightly larger person. Breakfast was very varied and plentiful with options... More

This is a highly polished professionaly run establishment. Very centrally located near the Dourmo ,shopping areas are all within a short walking distance. The lobby has a tranquil air that continues to the rooms. Free mini bar, intelligent shelves for clothes and surprise, shelving to get your suitcases off the floor. Very good restaurant recommendations at were excellent.

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
