The Hotel doesn't live up to their 4* rating, however this should be quite evident by reviewing the pictures posted by other travellers. It was tidy, quite but a bit rough on the edges. Perfect if all you want is a bed during the night, but if you're planning on spending a lot of time in the room I wouldn't... More

I booked a single room which turned out to be a double single use, so it wasn't too small. The double bed was comfortable enough. The free breakfast was decent, just an average continental buffet but you get fresh coffee and cappuccino. It's a shame they charge for WiFi.

This Hotel is very tired, the bed was as hard as the floor, there was no shower (hand held hose to be used in the bath), the internet is completely unusable, there was no air-conditioning. The staff were friendly enough and the location is very good. We paid an absolute fortune as stayed during the Furniture Expo, a complete rip-off... More

It has some of the smallest hotel rooms I have been to. Single twin bed, tiny bathroom, old furniture. The very bad part is that the wall sockets did not work, (in all the three rooms my tea was in) they were old and the computer's plug or hair dryer did not even fit in, only one socket in the... The basic problem of Hotel Mentana is that it doesn't provide a free Wi-Fi connection. You can pay for either 1 or 8 hour connections, paying respectively € 2 and € 8. Internet is a basic asset if you're a professional or, for instance, if you are travelling to a city to attend a scholarly or scientific conference. This was... More

The location of the hotel is rather good but it was hard to find good restaurants near it. The staff advised me two. Well, one was closed (it seems for a long time), another - small and packed. Though you can easily walk to Duomo (about 20 minutes) and find anything you like there :) The metro stations also require... More

Hotel has a good location to the Duomo and San Lorenzo area. Staff super helpful. The rooms are dated like your grandparents house, and are small for a double. No room for two suitcases. Having to pay for Wi Fi in this day and age is silly, keep the fresh towels everyday and give me good Wi-FI any time. I... More

We really liked our stay in this hotel as the staff at the reception were really kind and helpful. They recommended a nice little restaurant and liked it so much that we had almost all our meal there. Mentana hotel is situated right in the middle of everything where you can walk to the main attractions. We spent four nights... More

We arrived at the hotel at 11am after travelling from the lake district in the north. We were greeted by the concierge who promised to move our (heavy) suitcases to our rooms. Returned at 1.15, were handed the keys and found our luggage in a well spaced, air conditioned clean room. Elevator could carry 2 visitors or one visitor with... More

Staying in Navigli

Neighborhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
