The hotel is well located, only a 2 minute walk to the shopping district and the duomo. We found the theming of the hotel slightly strange - with animals throughout. Ours was almost a safari feel? It had lots of timber, and modern electrical fittings. We also had a roller shutter on the window which didn't quite block out all... More

One night stay on business trip to Milano. Extremely well located nearby La Scala and Duomo. The room was pleasent and well equipped. Breakfast provided variety of choice and the reception staff helpful and knowledgable to recommend eg. restaurants according to customer wishes. Good value for money.

The hotel is a few steps away from the main attractions of Milan, like the Duomo and the Galleria. We spent three days (two nights) at Milan and had no need to use the metro. The room has a lot of space and the bathroom is equipped with nice amenities from Carthusian di Capri, an excellent profumeria. The breakfast is... More

We stayed for six days and could not have been happier with the hotel. Excellent location; clean, well-lit rooms; and decent breakfast. Hotel staff was very helpful - particularly Bruno, who gave us advice on excursions, dining choices, and how to get to the airport. We intend to visit Milan again and will definitely return to this hotel.

So I picked this hotel after reading about how good the location was and I wasn't disappointed. Everything is close from this hotel, la scala, duomo, the shopping area, good food places. Top marks for the location. The next best thing about this hotel, is the staff. We were checking out early morning at 5.30, without asking we had a... More

I enjoyed our short stay on a Saturday, while visiting Milan. The hotel is a short walk from the Duomo, many restaurants and the shopping of the Via Dante and the Galleria. Our room was stylish, spacious for a major city and with a comfortable bed. We arrived early but were unable to access our room until later, because of... More

We stayed at the Star on a trip to Milan and Florence and it was such and interesting and quirky hotel. The lobby is pretty and the staff were great. Our room was decent sized, not huge but nice by European standards. It had the most unusual light fixtures, almost like having a disco ball in our room. There we... More

I wasn't expecting a lot from Hotel Star - photos looked quirky, but location was good and price was right. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Hotel Star is ideally located - 10 minutes walking distance to the Galleria, close to subway, safe neighborhood, great restaurants, clean, quiet (at least in our room) and with a unique personality.... Hotel Star is clean, offers a nice breakfast and can be a great value. It is around the corner from LaScala and a short walk to the Duomo and subway. It can be a bit noisy with the street car going by but that is only a problem if you keep the windows open. the front desk is always open... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
