I stayed at Hotel Star twice: once at the beginning of our trip, and once at the very end. The location was perfect. Just a 15-minute walk from Cadorna station, and right around the corner from all the important tourist sites like the Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. Service was lovely, and the complimentary breakfast was the best out of... More

Loved this little hotel. Stayed for two days. Perfect city centre location. Stations and sights in walking distance. Excellent value for money. Room was clean and bins/towels/beds changed daily. Breakfast spread was as good as the 5* place we stayed at the week before. So the furniture is a bit dated. Did not bother us at all. Would absolutely recommend... More

This hotel is a very good one since its location is very near the metro station, about only 50 meters away. So if you want to go to the center, you just have to take the metro and after 5 station you get there. In addition, the service is very nice too and the rooms as well.

I chose this hotel because of its location as well as a Rick Steves' recommendation and was not disappointed. Somewhat funky - fun - the decor is decidedly arty and whimsical. The staff is exceptionally helpful. Breakfast was included and delicious. The shower is small - I'm tall and for me was ok - but for a very large person... More

This hotel is right in the city centre, close to La Scala theatre and il Duomo, both walkable on heels; there is also a metro station close by and restaurants around opened till late; the staff at reception during the day speaks perfect English and is very helpful and flexible. It is a 3*, so do not go there expecting... More

Couple blocks from La Scala. We drove from Venice to Milan so we had a car since we were traveling to other cities. Difficult for parking, but can park at Via Brera (one block north of Via Dell'Orso). From parking you walk a couple blocks to the hotel. Very small breakfast area so get there early. Nice service and can... More

I stay at the Star hotel since a few years already. Mainly, as for me, perfectly located - just a few minutes from Scala Theater and the Duomo. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Good buffet breakfast. Very good cost/benefit option !!!!

A wonderful location to explore Milan... A short walk from all the attractions. Have recently stayed 2 nights upon arrival in Europe to attend Expo and then spent the last two nights before leaving Europe... A filling delicious breakfast, almost along side La Scala if you are a there for music/opera, friendly and helpful staff and certainly value for money...

We only stayed in Milan one night after flying in, but had I known how much I would like Milan and this hotel we probably would have stayed longer. The staff was incredibly helpful- everyone we encountered at the front dest gave us very valuable information we used our entire trip. They printed out train tickets I neglected to print... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
