The hotel is located centrally close to the Duomo Cathedral. The hotel us clean, staff are friendly, good choice for breakfast and still little touches like waiting on staff in white jackets and bow ties. Food in restaurant was lovely

Perfectly located near the Duomo including major shopping stores, a variety of restaurants and many metro stations. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was just okay, nothing special really. The hotel interior and furniture is very classic and outdated, so much that there are random buttons on the wall not sure for what. We got a very spacious corner room.... More

I stayed in the Hotel Galileo for 6 nights, with 3 friends. ( Two of the friends were there for only 4 nights). I asked for a quiet room, and got 608, which was a corner and as such had a particularly large bathroom, with two sinks. The room was comfortable, but a bit crowded. The mattress was very firm,... The hotel is located centrally, walking distance to the Duomo Cathedral, Restaurants and High end shopping. Darry the bellman helped us arrange transportation to the airport on a minimal cost. He told us to get a taxi for 15 Euros to the Centralle Statione where there are buses that would take you to the Malpenza airport for 8 Euros per... More

We stayed here for a week while sightseeing Milan! The hotel itself is very clean and the hotel staff were mostly friendly. The hotel is maximum 5 minute walk from the Duomo and close to many metro stops as well. There is some great shopping around this hotel too! The continental breakfast was great, with choices of fresh fruits and... More

This hotel reminds me of a 1970s lake lodge. There is wood panelling in the rooms, and buttons on the wall that I have no idea what they're for. It's really outdated. However, the positives are that the reception guys are very friendly and that it's in a great location. I have stayed here several times just for the convenience... More

Spent one night there this week. Would not recommend. Location is convenient. Breakfast, as many have said, was extensive and perfectly fine. However it is simply a tired building. Rooms have all the requisite facilities (and air con was not an issue) but it is 70's decor and "well used". As a 2/3 star hotel one wouldn't have cause for... More

One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was due to the location and the good reviews we saw. And as we write this, we have not yet explored as we just arrived but it appeared to be a nice location on our taxi ride here. However, upon arrival, we first noticed how dated this hotel was, but gave... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
