Wonderful hotel perfectly situated. The staff is very professional warm and helpful. The hotel is classic not so updated and I am fine with that. Sinatra would have stayed here in the old days before the rat pack . That is good enough for me .

Stayed here for work and was looked down upon by the reception staff when I spoke Italian to them. I queried The reservation as I wanted to know who booked my room from the office and this was an extra task the reception had to do and I was passed from colleague to colleague ( ganged up on me). Once of the fanciest hotels in downtown Milano, it suffers now the action of the time. Old style building with a old approaching service Seems everybody feels the weight of years and do not care about anything, starting of care to facilities. However, still habitable, since the location is the best to reach Milano atractions and shops

Okay. You have probably read that the hotel is dated and that is true bit the location is excellent. You are paying for the location so please take that into consideration. You are walking distance to just about everything worth seeing in Milan

If you want to know what hotels were like in the 80s, then this is the place. But the problem is you are paying 2012 prices. The hotel is in desperate need of a makeover. The rooms and bathrooms themselves are spacious, but then a small shower is crammed into a corner of the bathroom which has enough room to... More

Yes it's a old hotel but the location is great . Just across the famous cathedral and shopping and food everywhere. A few blocks from the famous Monte napoleon . High end shopping . Huge department store one block from the hotel

This hotel is dated and definitely NOT 4 Star. We checked in & were rudely issued with a room key & also ill advised of parking (we were told that where we had the car parked was incorrect, but there were others parked all around us, so we asked in a nearby shop & were told it was fine). We... More

I used to visit the Duomo with my family during the 80s and I could fondly remember, as a child, the hotel, the service, the view... the works... So during a weekend shopping trip( usually take that twice a year), from nearby Athens, my friends and i decided to spend the litle extra and stay in an old Milan favorite...... More

I don't need to say anything. Just look at the photos I post in the Traveller's Photos section. They say it's a 5 star LUX---NOT!!!! The moment the cab stopped outside I knew we were in trouble. The "welcoming" carpet was so worn that the "stars" were almost falling off. I saw 5 rooms including 118, 311, 308 and 418... More

The location is great but internally it really needs some attention. Old and mouldy rooms and the tired decor just made me want to escape asap.

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
