The reviews are mixed for this hotel because there is a new section where we stayed which is more expensive but more modern. We stayed because it is close to the station and more expensive during Expo but overall it is good.Breakfast is good and service is good but maintenance was bad as our fridge wasn't fixed during our stay. There is... Our flight landed in the late afternoon and we were taking a train early the next morning so we wanted a place to drop our luggage and get a quick taste of Milan. The only reason I stayed at Hotel Monopole was due its very close proximity to the Milano Centrale train station for a reasonable price, and it satisfied... More

We stayed here for a night at the backpackers hostel. When we arrived we were told that we could only check in an hour or two later whereas we reached the place at the check in time that was mentioned on the reservation. Anyway, the room was fine and it was very close to the train station. There was free... More

The location of the hotel is mere minutes away from milano centrale railway station. The metro is just at the edge of the opposite building. The room was high-ceiling, spacious and the interior design of bathroom was surprisingly well with a bathtub and a full bottle of multi-purpose shampoo. Moreover, the bed was fluffy comfy. The receptionist was helpful with... More

A good thing that I brought our booking confirmation copy since the front desk staff says that we don't have any reservation. This was after ignoring us when we came in and then making an excuse that he thought we together with the person who came before us. The location is near the central station and the bathroom has ample... More

Dear Sirs, Usually we try to give the best service to our guests, may be it was a very caotic day (we manage 80 rooms, almost 50 people coming and 50 people leaving almost everyday!!) and we might not have had the right concentration! we hope to do better next time. Anyway, we thank you very much for your review,... More

This hotel is clean, good value and handy for the central station. No frills, but there is free WiFi. The quirky elevator arrangement is interesting. Didn't try breakfast. Staff obliging and speak good English. Would use again.

We stayed for two nights and were given a room on one of the upper floors. There were no major noise issues. The staff was very helpful, and even helped make a reservation for us since local restaurants don't seem to speak English. Note that you should return your keys every time you leave the hotel, which was not explained... More

We did not by any means expect 5 star treatment staying in the backpacker accommodation in Hotel Monopole but what we did receive was beyond terrible. The room was fine however the door didn't lock which means we found sleeping difficult and didn't feel comfortable leaving the room for too long. We spoke to the receptionist about the issue and... Staying in Stazione Centrale

Neighborhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
