Hotel was very close to the Stazione Centrale which was handy for us. The room was cheap yet comfortable enough and very clean. The decor was dated but I already knew it would be from the pictures and it was fine. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. There were lots of hangers in the wardrobe which was good. The... We checked into Hotel Garda for two nights after traveling in Italy for nearly 3 weeks. We weren't expecting a lot, since our first two choices were sold out, and were concerned about being so close to the train station. But we were very pleasantly surprised. The location was so convenient for using the Metro and was an easy 5... More

I was looking for a lowcost hotel near Milano Centrale and ended up at hotel Garda. It was ok. If I had had high expectations I would have given it a lower rating but it was ok. The poximity to the Railway station is a plus. Bathroom good. Room a bit tired. Good value.

the Hotel is 3 min walk from Milano Centrale and the Metropolitana. If you travel by train, the Hotel's situation is perfect for your arrival or departure. You can reach the center within 3 - 4 metro stops. the Hotel is clean and quiet. our room on the 4th floor had a small balcony on a courtyard and a window... More

Average hotel near the train station. Of the three concierges one was completely unhelpful but the other two were ok. Several rooms are renovated with decent no-frills furniture and clean bathrooms but we had to be moved three times because the A/C in our room did not work (the temperature outside was about 95 F so it's easy to imagine... Clean rooms - Overall Good Service. The biggest advantage of the hotel is that it is situated near the Milan central station - just a couple of metres away. Overall good experience - apart from the wifi service.

We booked a one-night stay at this hotel based on a recommendation in the Rick Steves' Italy tour book. The main draw of this hotel was the location which is around the corner from the Milan Centrale train station. This is the main reason we booked this hotel because we had an early flight to Malpensa Airport and needed to... More

We paid almost $200 for a night here, it isn't worth more than $100. Room was clean but shabby. Maybe it was because we booked a month in advance because on the day we checked in the going rate was about $100 USD. In all fairness i did not ask them to lower the rate to match the current one.... I arrived and left Milan via the Centrale train station, and went to the lakes by train, so the hotel was ideally located a short walk from the station. The room was nicely appointed and fairly large for a single, but it didn't have air conditioning, so I had to leave the window open to sleep comfortably - not a... More

Staying in Stazione Centrale

Neighborhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
