We stayed in Hotel Milano Scala from the 10th of August till the 15th. We had the most wonderful drive from Munich, through Austria and Switzerland … beautiful weather, no traffic etc. In the best mood we checked in to the hotel and were really happy about hotel location, rooms, etc. We had two rooms, one of which was a... The staff were wonderful, particularly the ladies at the front desk who were very helpful with suggestions for cafes and places to go. The location was superb, within walking distance of the main attractions and also close to great shopping and restaurants. Beautifully appointed rooms with complimentary welcome drinks beside the bed. The breakfast was plentiful and we had a... More

This hotel is very convenient for travelers. Most of the sightseeing hotspots are at a walking distance from the hotel. Approximately 4 minutes of walking from the hotel to la scala and 5 minutes on foot from the hotel to the expo gate where there are expo souvenirs and tickets for sale. The staff at the hotel were informative and... More

I stayed at this beautiful boutique hotel for a weekend. The hotel is within walking distance of the cathedral, the Scala and the Galleria. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The opera-inspired decor is exquisite and of very high standard. Highly recommended!

This was a very nice small boutique hotel. We stayed during the week of the Fourth of July. The location is very central, and it is walking distance to the Castle, the Duomo, and the Galleria. La Scala Opera House is one block over. It is located in Brera, therefore there are many great restaurants nearby. Check in: quick and... More

Could not get into my regular Hotel in Milan as this was a very last-minute trip. The hotel location is great and staff could not have been nicer. The hotel is a little worn out....very business like feel. Not at all a "Boutique Hotel" in my mind. My small room looked over an interior courtyard....had fake wood floors, synthetic pillows... Extremely convenient hotel located within easy walking distance from the Duomo, Brea district, fashion district, and public transportation. Not cheap, for the room size, but one pays for the convenience, good service, and an efficiently laid out and comfortable room. I had a room with a jacuzzi which was a nice feature. Good quality breakfast, too.

Travelled solo to Milan. Hotel is an easy 10-15minute walk from the Cardona train station, 5-10 minute walk to La Scala, the Duomo and Gallerie in one direction and the Brera neighborhood in the other. The room is a split level – the bedroom area is rather small but it was a single and the twin bed was to be... More

Great location for La Scala, the Duomo on foot and an easy walk to a couple of Metro stations. This charming hotel is hard to beat. The rooms are well appointed, the huge bath in ours might be a challenge to get in and out of for "older" guests! Pre dinner cocktails on the roof garden were very special.

Staying in Brera

Neighborhood Profile
Brera
Brera captures the real essence of the city. It is an excellent mix between history and modernity, where tradition meets innovation. Here design and beauty reign. On Via Brera there are the famous Pinacoteca (galleries), the National Gallery of Modern and Antique Art, and the Academy of Fine Arts. Interior design boutiques and intellectual cafes are typical of the district. Walking along Via Madonnina is a must to admire the architecture of buildings and the design stores. On Sundays, going to the local market is an unmissable opportunity for fashion, style and art. Tucked away, there is the Orto Botanico di Brera botanical garden that seems like a painting framed in an ancient fairy structure. Last but not least, it’s worth a visit to Giardini Pubblici Indro Montanelli with its Planetarium, the Civico Museo di Storia Naturale (Natural History Museum).
