it's ok for a week end or short vacation. Well-positioned, a few hundreds of meters from the railway station and very close to downtown and almost all historical museeum. The price is rather low, breakfast included decent enough, room good considering the cost (double for 83 euros only). Bathroom is acceptable The only drawback is parking; they have an agreement... During our stay in Mantova my husband had a medical emergency. The management and staff acted quickly and were extremely professional and helpful. Two physicians came to our room, ambulance was called and my husband was transferred to a hospital ER. Fortunately he was able to return to H. Italia that same evening. I certainly hope noone needs medical care... More

On the plus side: good location and the walk from the train station wasn't too far. Plus, it was REALLY hot when I was there and the airconditioning was fantastic! There were fresh cherries in my room when I got there - yum! Price was reasonable. Down side: room felt dark and small (even though the room was a normal... More

After leaving Riva del Garda, we took a train from Rovereto to visit Mantova. My room, the recommended Junior suite/Triple room number 31, was reserved from as early as December. After learning that Mantova is such a romantic place with three lakes, I thought to myself, better keep it for nicer weather, and I am glad I came in June.... More

If you are the first time in Italy, or if you are usually in 4 to 5 star business type hotels, you may not chosse this place. It is a typical Italian town hotel, a bit old fashioned, however the rooms a clean, our bathroom was releatively new renovated and bigger than the usual 30 sqf you sometimes get. Rooms... More

There are such divergent reviews on this hotel, I think its useful to give a brief introduction. Mantova is a small but very pretty city with much to see while still being an "under the radar" destination. That said, this off the beat and path city has few hotels and not so much tourism. We found the location of the... More

The rooms are dark and smell like cigarette smoke, with beaten-up furniture. The manager is inflexible, the desk staff are rude and lazy. Overpriced and smelly. Don't bother with this hotel---there are others in Mantua that give you a better deal and nicer experience.

Equidistant between the Ducal Palace and the Palazzo Te, it is an excellent base for seeing historic Mantua. The reception, restaurant and some of the rooms are a bit poky, but that is balanced by the friendliness of the staff, the better than standard breakfasts and the general attention to detail. It is unpretentious, but thoroughly pleasant place to stay... More

Hotel Italia is located at the edge of the historic city centre and within easy walking distance of all the principal cultural attractions, shopping facilities and public transport. The hotel rooms are of a particularly generous standard, the buffet breakfast is ample and the staff friendly and helpful. Tariffs are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Recommended by a friend of mine, I had a chance to stay in this hotel. It was a very good choice considering the price and the service. It’s located in the historical center: outside the hotel, in front of the Sociale, the Opera Theater, it’s fine to walk shopping and visit tourist attractions, the medieval and renaissance monuments of Mantova....
