We booked this hotel because we generally prefer older, converted, small buildings to new generic ones. And the Mon Toc was as pleasant and charming as we expected in many respects. However, our room was tiny! A large balcony helped to alleviate the cramped space a bit. But barely a foot of space separated the end of the bed from...

This is a wonderful, old fashioned family run hotel, and a great value for Stresa. It would be an excellent choice for train or car travelers and we had no problem walking up from the main road where the Malpensa airport shuttle bus stops. Our room (#15) was spacious, with a comfortable bed and monogramed sheets and towels. We had...

A short walk from the train station, a nice garden in the back. I enjoyed my room and it was clean and quiet. Each room is different, with older style closets, doors, locks, some have very small bathrooms (common in Italy). I slept well. The loudest noise were the birds singing in the morning; the windows opened fully.
Breakfast was...

Having reviewed previous comments about this property located within walking distance of the rail station, I concur. I recently turned 70 & with my TomTom in hand, did not have to spend time searching for a reasonably priced room for my return visit to this most enjoyable area. Whilst the owners did not speak English we were able to communicate...

Very close to train station & 10 minute walk to the Lake & local attractions. Large comfortable room with a good bathroom & a small balcony with a peak of a view towards the lake. Nice garden area if you have time to relax there. 80 Euros for 2 people including breakfast was great value for money in a town...

This is by far the best place we stayed on this trip. 80 Euros a night, breakfast included. The room was large, at least by European standards, although the bathroom was tiny, as they usually are. Nicely decorated, with a huge window overlooking the garden and a private balcony. There were toiletries in the bathroom but no hairdryer. Location is...

The hotel is attractive with a friendly staff. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Meals are delicious and served in a lovely dining room. The hotel's location is ideal in that, although in a quiet area of Stresa, is nonetheless within a short walking distance of Lake Maggiore and the tourist area. This is definitely the place to stay...

If you are looking for a quaint hotel in Stresa, Mon Toc is the place to stay. The owner is the chef who cooks all the wonderful meals and is very accommodating. It is a family-owned hotel so you feel right at home. We will definitely return.
My family and I stayed for about a week and had most meals at Mon Toc. Various options were offered at every meal, and we never had a bad dish. Highly-skilled chef - I miss his meals already! Relaxed and accomodating atmosphere. Very attentive staff. They treat you like familiy! The rooms were clean as a whistle every day. Great...
