We stayed here during a recent trip to Lago Maggiore. The hotel is an easy 6-7 min walk from the train station and 5 min to the lake shore and center of town. It has the feel of long gone days and this is what gives its charm. Our room was in the main building, was spacious and facing the... More

My friend and I are older women with mobility problems and were looking for a small hotel. Our room was in the annex and was up 5 or 6 steps. Our room was pleasant, had air conditioning which we needed, and comfortable beds. The hotel has parking and is located at the top of the hill overlooking Stresa. It was... More

We stayed in the main building of Hotel du Parc and asked for their quiet rooms just in case the trains disturbed sleep. They did not interfere with sleep, the beds were really comfortable and the rooms were light and airy. Breakfast was lovely each day, the waiter was so discreet in the background and ensured all needs were met.... More

We have just completed a 6 night stay in this 3 star hotel, staying in the main hotel facing the mountain. Having read reviews regards the noise from passing trains, we didn’t find this to be a problem. I'm sure some would be greatly annoyed by the closeness of the railway and the noise created by passing trains, but for... More

This Hotel is not up to modern standards expected for £100 a night. We paid extra for a front room overlooking the lake, with a balcony, and a busy road junction. The noise from the 24 hour freight Italian Swizerland main line was not kept out by the cheap double glazing. Thin internal walls were thin, we could hear the... More

You will love this hotel. It's perfectly situated just above the town. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You will feel like a member of the family. The husband and wife owners are artists and have decorated the rooms and the hallways with their wonderful art work. The breakfasts which are part of... More

Fantastic hotel full of character with authentic decoration and fittings including Murano glass chandeliers. Big rooms, comfy beds in main house. Magical view of the lake, ensuite showers and lovely olive toiletries. Nice lounge and seating areas in garden. The family owners couldn't have been more helpful including organising an early breakfast when we had to leave at 6am. Would... More

We stayed in the annex and had a room on the back; bed wasn't just hard it was like laying on a door; Bathroom was marginal and shower was questionable. But breakfast was great; service delightful and the location terrific, though we had the trains flying past early in the morning. Would I stay again yes - but perhaps try... More

I've been very disappointed by this hotel especially by the room. I was very disappointed by he cost of the room in the end, given the level of service. I honestly think that the room didn't worth the price at all!!! The bathroom was very old and the shower door was crooked - no windows (this wasn't speficied by the... More

Looking at the other reviews we wonder whether we stayed at the same hotel. . The hotel must have been quite something at one time but is badly in need of some TLC (see picture of light fitting hanging from wall). The station is about 20 mins walk away but most of the road has no pavement. The railway runs... More
