We had a meeting in Grand Hotel Bristol in Stresa. I personally dislike very much hotels where I have NO view from my room. The room itself was OK if you like pompous, gold coloured furnishing and carpets. For some reason all the time I spent in Grand hotel bristol I was congested and stuffy in the nose. OK, in... More

Someone at ebookers found us this hotel and it was the best positive surprise in a long while. Beautiful, relaxing location and facilities which are maintained in amazing shape. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great outdoor and indoor swimming pools. The family room we staid in was great and very spacious. Amazing value for money as well, while... More

Stayed for 10 days on a half board basis. The original room we were allocated was not what we had expected, so as soon as possible we were moved to a much nicer room. The staf were at all times lovely, and the food and service excellent. The hotel is in a fantastic position with beautiful lake views. Very grand!... More

We stayed one night with a bus group. The hotel was beautiful, Our rooms were very spacious and clean. We were in walking distance to town, which had nice quaint shops. We had breakfast at the hotel which was very good. The gounds and pools were gorgous.

Stayed for one week on a half board basis through Thompson Lakes and Mountains package so I assume we got a good rate judging by other comments re prices, etc. The hotel itself is very grand which may not be to everyone's taste but we liked it. Facilities available are excellent (indoor and outdoor pools, fitness suite, etc.) and the... More

The rooms are ok if you are willing to pay through your nose. I have found nicer hotels which are cheaper around lake como and lake maggiore which are family run. The staff here are extremely unfriendly and unaccommodating probably because they are underpaid. They charge for extras which should be included such as wifi.

Lovely hotel with good facilities. Staff attentive and room cleanliness good. Great location for visiting the local area and islands. Views exceptional if you are over looking the lake. Lovely promenades both ways to the villages and close to ferry pickups. We stayed at the Bristol knowing it was expensive but were disappointed at the cost of eating there. 25€... More

I'm sure this was once a very grand hotel, but it has slipped against modern standards. Whilst it is four star for an Italian hotel, this would not pass a four star in other parts of the world. It is clean and well presented but our room had woodworm (active) and the cleaners didn't always provide fresh towels or get... More

Firstly the weather did nothing to help on the first week, although it was nothing to do with the hotel, in 20 years of visiting various parts of Italy we have never experienced weather like we did, rain, thunder, lightening and quite cool! The hotel looks really lovely both outside and in, room was lake view ( when the weather... More

I'll start with the positives:- The Hotel is clean, the grounds are beautiful, we had lovely view from our balcony which had a side view of lake and pool. The pool area is very attractive with plenty of sun beds. Most of the staff were pleasant and efficient. the location is very good, pleasant 10 min stroll along the promenade... More
