Just spent a week at this hotel. Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Quality of food very good overall. Very close to town centre. Friendliness of staff seems to rub off onto guests, as everybody seems very happy and friendly. Probably best suited to couples. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here for 8nights in July and thoroughly enjoyed the break. The hotel is well located in Stresa with easy access for the ferry, the towns many restaurants and it has great views across the Lake. The hotel is clean and the staff are welcoming and helpful but I struggle with the 4x rating. The bathroom... More

ROOM: - Pretty hotel with lovely gardens. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room overlooking the lake was not very big and storage was limited to a wardrobe with shelves and four extremely small drawers. However after requesting more hangers (no problem and delivered promptly along with two more pillows) we solved the problem. We hwad a lovely large... More

I wish Tripadvisor had a 'Good' category as this hotel is way above average but not Very Good as we weren't keen on the food. The hotel is, as other reviewers have said, very pretty, only a five minute walk from Stresa and spotlessly clean. However, breakfast is exactly the same every day, it is acceptable being continental with some... More

We stayed the night at this very pretty hotel, gorgeous flowers are in abundance on the outside of the hotel and there are lots of lovely plants in their garden.. Haviing driven this far from Southern Italy and with another long drive the next day to Central France we were so glad to relax and unwind here, we arrived early... More

We booked independently, a lake view room with bed and breakfast .We were really pleased that we paid extra for the lake view. Our room 207, was fantastic, very spacious with a double balcony and great to return to after sightseeing. The hotel is conveniently situated, only a few minutes walk from the town centre, railway station and ferry stage. The breakfast... More

Booked a 1 week break with Riviera Travel in June and selected the Astoria Hotel. Location is very convenient for the town centre, access to the lake and water taxis. Initial impressions were good and we were greeted with friendly helpful english speaking staff and a "no fuss" check-in. Booked a "Lakeside View" but the room was located on the... More

Basil Fawlty is alive and well and living in Stresa. Asked for a towel for the pool, much tutting, complaining and he said but I'm just going off now. Stomped off got the towels and remained there all day! I think he was the manager. A totally mad bar man and hysterical waiters. We had a great time. The hotel... More

We booked our holiday with Riviera Travel. We were pleased when we found out that the evening meal could be taken at any time between 7 and 9 pm. This was good as two of our trips out returned late so we didn't have to rush to get ready for it. At the Bristol we heard they only had the... More

a riviera holiday to this hotel is truly a mixed experience, being next to the Regina Palace full of old world charm, it sits facing the promenade, a concrete block of narrow windows, which is why the rooms are narrow! we did manage to move to a larger room with a large balcony,a great improvement.everything was very clean, with clean towels...
