A pleasant view on Fishermen's Island is what makes this accommodation unique. The common space is dense of marbles and golden items which are perfect to impress and attract nouveau riche customers while the corridors are more classic though the doors with gold details are a nice touch. Acqua di Parma toiletries and a marble bathroom complement the bedroom which... More

A large group of travel friends and family (38 of us) had the pleasure of overnighting at this over-the-top villa/hotel on the shores of Lago Maggiore (less than 45 minutes from the Malpensa Airport in Milan). This two night stay was part of a nearly 3-week trip through mostly Northern Italy (Positano, Rome, Tuscany, Cinque Terra, Lago Maggiore, and Milan).... More

This review is a bit overdue. We stayed at this hotel in August 2011. Our original room facing the back of the hotel was changed upon our request to the side which included a lovely view of the lake. The rooms are small and the ones in the back a a bit dark. However, the room was very comfortable and... More

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for an extended weekend in April 2011. Our room was towards the back of the hotel with a view of the gardens. Although the room was small, it had everything you need and the wardrobe was large enough to accommodate our stuff. It was also very clean. The buffet breakfast offered... More

Very nice and traditional for the area. Main reason for the choice was The Grotta - the Spa - that is actually quite small and though very beautiful, personally I found it limited, in 15 min is all done.the restaurant is spectacular, so is the luxurious breakfast hall with large windows overlooking the Borromean islands. Breakfast and service very very... More

I agree with previous comments on this Hotel - we had five weddings in the first 8 days of our stay. On one day even the pool area was being used so we were banned from the pool!! Each evening, when a wedding took place, we had to eat in a different part of the Hotel - even in the corridor.... More

Following other reviews regarding the weddings, we thought we were safe staying on a Monday and Tuesday but sadly not. A wedding was in full swing when we arrived. Our room had a 'Park view' and had a very good balcony. Considering the cost, the room was pokey to say the least, gaudy decor, small bathroom with very small bath... More

This is a beautiful high end hotel with spectacular views. The breakfast buffet on the outdoor terrace each day was spectacular. The breakfast staff catered to your every need and the food variety and selection was very good. We had an upgraded room overlooking the lake which provided great views but the room itself was very small...tight to even walk... More

We stayed in a Euros 1000 suite in the eaves of the roof and ate in the less formal of the 2 restaurants. From the moment of arrival (they entred our arrival date on their computer for 2 weeks later than we booked, so had no idea we were arriving) this hotel gives the impression of a smug, overpriced and... The villa is quite nice place both inside and outside. The staff was very helpful (in restaurant, at the reception, room service). The hotel also provides a free shuttle service at certain time to the centre of Stresa. Villa’s taxis are great. One of the last models of Mercedes-Benz cls was at our service and it wasn’t that big difference... More
