It really is a masterpiece. Great place to stay and 'Wow' we just could not believe the amazing quality of the furnishings and decor. Each floor's corridor is dedicated to the various periods of art culture over centuries of Italian history. So you have to visit all five floors to experience it. Make sure you do not miss the fountain... More

Stayed 12 days in early May. This was our fourth stay at this hotel. Do health issues, we cannot travel in Europe the way we used to travel. We now stay for extended periods in places that we enjoy the most. This is a grand hotel in every manner. Great facility and even better staff. We will return again in... More

The hotel is very grand and has a real feeling of history. Ask for a lake view- it is worth it for the picture postcard view of the lake. Service was excellent - the only thing missing was a welcome bottle of water or fruit in the room that one would expect of a hotel at this level. Internet is... More

Just returned from a week at the Grand Hotel Des Iles Borromees. Location of the hotel was really good with only a ten minute walk into the centre of Stresa. We had a lake view room which was well worth the extra cost and what an incredible view! The bed was a little hard for us but they swiftly supplied... More

We were moved to this hotel by the hotel we were supposed to stay, always a concern but in this case a pleasant surprise. The hotel is charming and very well appointed. The rooms were clean and quite comfortable. The staff was outstanding and the biggest bonus, they served Crown Royal at the lobby bar. Big shout out to Francesco... More

We have booked this Hotel for a long weekend with my family incl dog. Arrival was as expected for this category of hotel smooth and staff was very friendly. We spend the following days quite some time at the pool. The unheated water was quite fresh (but not unusual for May) but the surroundings and the weather mad it a... More

This isn't a hotel, its an experience. Conveniently located just a few hundred metres from the station, you will think you have been transferred to another world and another time. The concierge is chivalrous and very helpful. We we given a free upgrade because it was my husband's birthday - this meant a lake view room next to the Hemingway... More

There's no doubt that lakeview setting is magnificent, but that's also that case for many adjoining properties.. Given the tripadvisor reviews, we booked a junior suite at the Grand for a three night stay in mid-May. However, When we elect to pay top dollar we expect better. We swim most days of the year, whether home or abroad, so a... More

Wow! It is impossible not to be impressed by this lovely hotel. We were met on the station platform and our cases taken for us, important as there is no lift or ramp, and driven down to the lakeside hotel. We had chosen a garden view room and it had a wonderful view over the water feature and the amazing... More

We stayed 2 nights. It was a pleasure trip and our first time in Stresa. Our room had a balcony overlooking the fountain and an altogether enjoyable view. There were shutters that could block out the light. The bathroom was well equipped. The included breakfast had everything we needed. You could eat indoors or out. We did not eat in... More
