Like being in a period film, this hotel evokes memories of times past, but the services and facilities are first rate and bang up to date. The indoor swimming pool was very modern, and the water was nice and warm.

Opulent, traditional interior - well-kept rooms with extremely attentive, polite staff throughout. The SPA area is much bigger than you'd expect; the indoor pool relaxing and gym area bright and spacious. The very wide-ranging buffet breakfast has everything - even freshly-squeezed orange juice. The conservatory breakfast area overlooking the shore is Stresa's most-breathtaking view. The immaculate gardens are just great... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights in the middle of a six week trip through Europe, and it was without doubt the highlight of the accommodation we experienced on this trip. We had a high room with a balcony overlooking the lake and islands and it was an experience second to none. The hotel is very grand and... More

This hotel gives you a feeling of being in a old-time grandiose movie. Location is picture perfect, especially if you have a lake-facing room. Corridors are full of art, each floor having a different theme. Rooms are not big, but nice. Surroundings are magnificent. We've been moved from another hotel, and you could feel in service that we were treated... More

We stayed a couple of nights here and it is truly a magnificent hotel, with beautiful public areas and great bedrooms. We were overlooking the lake. Corridors full of paintings and marble statues, huge chandeliers, wonderful gardens. Literally across the road from the Lake and about 10 minutes walk to the village centre with numerous small restaurants and boutique shops.... More

We stayed in this lovely hotel at the end of the tourist season. It is very elegant and the staff are superb. Everything is extremely ornate which adds to the old world charm. Each floor has a different theme of artworks to relict the days of the "Grand Tour". Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. The only reason I have... More

Grand by name and by nature, this hotel has just celebrated its 150th birthday and much of its character dates back a long time. As other reviews have noted, it is a little like staying in a museum, and this has its good and its bad points. The good points being the grand design of the building, the artworks decorating... This was our fourth stay at this wonderful hotel. Stayed eight nights again. I cannot say enough about this hotel. We stayed in a junior suite on the second floor with a nice sized balcony with lake view. Breakfast in the hotel's dining room is always excellent. All of the staff that we were in contact were very professional and... More
