I actually was slightly disappointed after reading previous previews. The room I had was quite bare and did not have any atmosphere apart from the little balcony (overlooking the car park and the railway tracks). However, the room was clean and all the essentials were in there but considering the price (52 Euros) I somehow wished I had picked a... more

The hotel was a little difficult to find, and our initial welcome was rather luke warm (although it did improve during our stay). Considering the hotel was almost entirely full of english-speaking clients, it was surprising how little English was spoken by reception staff. The hotel is very clean and well-situated between the station and the lake (train noise is... more

we have just returned from Italy after staying in Baveno for 8 nights. The hotel was comfortable and clean but the staff were not very pleasant to deal with. The pool is small and there is not much to do if the weather is not good. The bar is not conducive to sitting and having a quiet drink in. The... more

This was an OK hotel with a minimally friendly staff. Good location with a short walk to the lake, but the so-called lake view was not so great- a tiny balcony (useless) from which you could see a portion of the lake. The breakfast looked horrible, so we skipped it and ate out. The trains kept us up all night,... more

We stayed here for two nights in September. Hotel is 2-3 mins walk from the town and resturants. We found the hotel staff rude and not helpful at all. Breakfast was OK but not great. Hotel has a small pool and area with sun loungers although we didn't use it. The railway track runs at the back of the hotel... more

The hotel located in a very quiet alley in Baveno, just 5 minutes walk from the promanade and town center. The room are large and very clean. Bathrooms new and large as well. This is a family manged hotel, and the team are very nice and warm. Hotel also has it's own bicycles (although we did not use those). Breakfast... more

This hotel has stunning lake views ,with a really warm relaxed welcome. The whole family greet you and are really helpful. The hotel is spotless and run very well . The pool is small , however for the size of hotel it is perfect and sits in an amazing suntrap. The roof top views are excellent. The family that run... more

Good, clean small hotel close to old church square up the hill in Baveno. Close to restaurants and easy walk down the hill to the lake-front. Didn`t take breakfast in the hotel and they don`t do dinner, but they do have a small bar. Pool is small, with a few loungers round about. Our room had a lake view -... more

This was one of the best hotels we found without a reservation. The rooms were spacious and provided excellent views of the lake. A steel of a deal - 65 EURO for a double room. Free parking. Excellent breakfast (best croissants ever). Owner speaks Italian, but we were still able to understand each other. more

A great find

We struck really lucky to find this hotel. From the time we walked through the door, we were made welcome in a real family run hotel. We had rooms on the third floor - views of the lake and hardly any noise apart from the occasional train when the windows were open. Location is ideal, being about five minutes walk... more
