My daughter and I visited the italian lakes area for a few days in September. The waterfront Hotel Rigoli in the small town of Baveno proved to be a great choice - properly run, up to date and an excellent base from which to explore the area. It is particularly handy for the ferries criss-crossing Lake Maggiore. I highly recommend... More

We were in room 110 at the side of the hotel overlooking the camp site. I was disappointed at first but the room was comfortable and clean and we don't go on holiday to stay indoors. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake is definitely a bonus and away from the main front so no traffic noise. The family and... More

I won't bore you with a long review as other people have described the hotel perfectly. The highlights for us were the staff and the food. We ate in the restaurant on all four nights and quality and quantity were fantastic. A special mention for Fabio, Valerio, Monica and Valentina and, if Fabio's reading this, that's +---. Claudia was very... More

The views of the lake and mountains from the hotel and amazing ask for a lake view room. The location is ideal for catching the boats or trains although a hire care is useful it is very easy to get here from the airport. Eating breakfast on the pretty terrace by the lakeside is a wonderful experience. The owners and... More

Beautifully located quality hotel right on lake shore away from town centre. Well appointed rooms with balcony vista across lake. Hotel has its own tiny beach (not for us, we're Australian). Excellent breakfast with selection of hot and cold. Wonderful pastries. Friendly staff. Everything overseen by Mme Claudia whose father created the hotel and he's still around! Provided directions for... More

Really lucky to have spent 50th birthday treat for 5 nights at the Rigoli. Had the maggiore and orta area recommended by a European colleague and was not disappointed. Not too touristy spectacular views great good and wine. Even better found this hotel via tripadvisor and was not disappointed. Despite our usual 5 star hotel preferences the room and breakfast... As the sun sets and you are eating your evening meal you can envisage Inspector Poirot sitting at the next table discussing the stunning views of the lake. This very comfortable, family run hotel oozes charm and offers great service. The staff look after you so well and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your visit.... More

Having had the fortune to stay in many family run lodgings and have friends who are hoteliers, this is one place which encompasses all the elements that make up a good night sleep after a beautiful day. Come and experience yourself.

Just returned from a fantastic holiday in the Italian Lakes all arranged by Sean McHale, Bespoke Travel. Perfect in every way! Stayed at the amazing family run Hotel Rigoli, where staff did everything to ensure guests' comfort and enjoyment. Outstanding location on the banks of Lake Maggiore, pretty terrace to enjoy breakfasts, snacks and drinks, spotlessly clean rooms and facilities... More
