Our visit to the Olivi was our honeymoon, we had a week in Rome then on to the Olive for the second week, after a very busy first week it was lovely to have a more chilled week, the weather was very warm, thundery in the afternoon which was'nt a problem because it cooled off, the hotel staff were very... more

Sirmione is a picture postcard small town on the Lake Garda Peninsula, with interesting shops, restaurants, a lovely waterside square where the boats come and go, as well as the famous Roman ruins which are well worth a visit. It does tend to be quite expensive, but then I understand that this is the case in much of Europe at... more

we stayed for 5 nights and wished for much longer. a beautiful location, very helpful and friendly staff, the walk into the old town was literally 5 minutes but the hotel was situated in immaculate gardens with an amazing pool. the whole place was full of character and we will definately go back again more

Arriving at the hotel was an experience!! As Simione is located on a thin sliver of land extending into the lake, almost all movement is north/south. To enter the old village, you had to cross a small narrow bridge to limit barbarian access in the old days and car access these days. You needed to prove to the police that... more

Was not sure what to expect from the Olivi - the lobby is very kitsch and we thought perhaps a bit old-fashioned but if old-fashioned means fantastic service then this place hits the spot! The staff could not have been more helpful, we had some of our rather creased clothes ironed immediately on arrival and a bottle of prosecco was... more

Really enjoyed our stay in the Hotel Olivi, the website or reviews definitly don't do this Hotel any justice. We found the staff very accommodating and friendly definitly not the norm for an italian hotel. The food was excellent; there was a small but adequate and tasty choice for breakfeast while the lunch that was served at the pool was... more

We have just returned from a week at the Hotel Olivi as part of a two week stay in Italy. I do not think that brochures or the hotel web site do this hotel justice. The location is excellent - away from the busy town but within 5 or so minutes walk when you want to go. The drive through... more

Have just returned from a fabulous week in Lake Garda at the Hotel Olivi. I took my husband there for his 50th birthday present. We flew to Venice, took the fly bus from the airport to the train station and got a train to Desenzano were we picked up a taxi to take us the 20 minute journey to our... more

We nearly didn't book as some of the reviews are off putting, and it was ranked only 15th on the Sirmione Peninsula. This would have been a shame as we had a fantastic week there! The service was impeccable and the complementary afternoon tea by the pool is a nice touch, we thought they only did that in England! The... more

The Olivi is an attractive hotel; our room was nicely furnished and comfortable. The breakfast was quite good, with a large selection of foods, including delicious apple turnover-like pastries. All in all, the hotel was a very good value, given the fairly modest rates. The one warning I would give to anyone staying here, or at any hotel beyond the... more
