I dislike big, impersonal hotels, so this wee spot, approximately 10 kms from all that, situated right on the Fleuve St. Laurent, the perfect alternative. The rooms within the Auberge seem more updated than the motel part of this place. The food is elegantly presented and well-prepared, the atmosphere is welcoming and charming and the views are spectacular. The staff... More

Peaceful and quaint location in a small quiet village. Service is outstanding and we loved it so much- we extended our stay! This is an old building that had been properly maintained and well kept but it is an old building! Squeaks and creaks are normal! Enjoy the peace and quiet here.

Beautiful old building, excellent atmosphere, amazing view. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms clean. Our room door bound on the carpet when you tried to open it at about 30 degrees but that is a consequence of an old building. The unforgivable issue was a rock-hard bed. Actually hurt your legs to sit at the edge of the bed and... More

The view from the balcony was stunning, we watched the sunset for a very long time. We also enjoyed walking the beach at low tide, and went into town to see Park des Chutes. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was great. We loved the historic feel to the neighborhood and the Victorian decor. The beds were average,... More

Positives: wonderful view of the Saint Lawrence and friendly staff. But while the downstairs lobby and dining room are nice enough, the balance is in need of an upgrade. Negatives: tired upstairs hall way. Room had minimal comforts though the bed itself was comfortable. No air conditioning or fan. The "gourmet" cuisine was acceptable but nothing more than that.

This old Inn has a great location ,the motel units are directly on the waterfront . It is our favorite spot for sunsets , on a lucky night the sun draws a goldden bridge on the river a sight to remenber. It is not a fancy place ,but clean ,the food is good . I have to agree with other... More

The view of the fleuve from the motel part of the auberge is spectacular. That and the friendliness of the front desk staff are the only things that impressed us about these accommodations. There is no air conditioning in the room so the heat kept us awake all night. The bathroom is so small that we barely had room to... More

Last weekend, en route from the Maritimes to Montreal, we stopped overnight at Auberge sur Mer in Notre Dame du Portage, near Rivière du Loup, on the south shore of the St Lawrence. The place is charming and quirky so if you're looking for a Best Western, this inn is not for you! Rooms in the auberge are clean and... More

Nice enough inn, good location with view of .... well, flat water. And some hills. The main building is attractive if you 're in the mood for a Victorian inn. (Bit flouncy and overdone for me but I'm English so this stuff doesn't excite me that much.) We were in the motel so I can't comment on the rooms in... More

It was our second visit to this Auberge and not much has changed. When it comes to the dining experience, this is a good thing! When it comes to the rooms, this is a not so good thing! Firstly the good: The cuisine! The dining room overlooks the St. Lawrence River and is lovely and romantic. The food is amazing... More
