Wholly heartedly recommend this hotel. An old convent, dating back to 1613 reconverted into a modern hotel!. The common spaces are a must, each and every corner has been suitably decorated and keeps and extraordinary charm. Everything is beautiful and very tasty. Fire places everywhere. The hotel is a family business and they and the rest of the service treat... More

Hidden away in the Aragonese mountains in the small village of Freneda this 17th century convent has been lovingly and tastfully renovated into a mediaeval boutique hotel. We stayed in the new wing overlooking the gardens which was quiet and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the dinners and breakfasts that we had in the glazed two... More

We are frequent visitors to this area but have never stayed at this hotel which run by four sisters and their father. It is full of character and charm and the building has been imaginatively and thoughtfully restored. We booked a Junior Suite for 3 nights in February. There was a sitting room with a small balcony (which we didn't... More

This was our first motorcycle trip to Spain and Hotel El Convent certainly made it a wonderful experience. We stayed for a week in September. The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful but were never pushy, the food was absolutely fantastic, and the town & area interesting. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the garden. We were very... More

We stayed here for three nights in July, a family of four, two children aged 12 and 7. We loved it from the moment we walked across the courtyard. The building is ancient but very well maintained, extremely clean and full of beautiful old artifacts. We stayed in a family suite which was two Spacious rooms joined by an interconnecting... More

We stayed two nights in this old monastery turned into a hotel. We had a room in the new section where the two rooms had a balcony with a beautiful view over the nearby hills. Some other rooms seemed to have windows and entrance to the garden full of flowers, trees and a fountain. The personell were very friendly and... More

I choose this hotel for a number of reasons for a one night stay during a driving holiday from Valencia to Barcelona. It was very affordable, it has free parking on site, in house restaurant looked wonderful, and the ambiance of staying in a restored convent suggested peace and beauty. El Convento was an excellent choice based on all these... More

La Fresneda is the most beautiful of the villages in this region and El Convent is a wonderful place to stay. The family who runs it are all very friendly and helpful and also great cooks! It was cold when we were there and the fire in the lounge was lit - we spent some very relaxing hours in front... More
