We stayed here for two nights, and we had a great stay. Renata and Antonio went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed and ensuite bathroom. One evening we were wandering through town in search of a dinner spot, many were closed, and Renata saw us looking around and... More

When I travel, I love the feeling of being a "temporary local." B&B Il Bolentino made me feel that way immediately. The proprietors are amazingly friendly and hospitable. While they don't speak any English, between my "Sp-Italian" (my rusty Spanish allows me to understand slow speech and read a little), my daughter's rusty Italian, and Google Translate, we got along... Firstly be aware that Varenna Esino train station is a small station and you may miss getting off at the station, especially at night like we nearly did, if you do not speak Italian to ask other train passengers or listen very carefully to the announcement (in Italian) that you have arrived as the signage can get tricky to spot... Excellent home-stay B&B. Renata and Antonio could not have been nicer and more helpful. The room and bed were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was lovely with fresh baked croissants. Very quiet but close to the sights of Varenna. Easy walk from the train station.

We enjoyed our time at Il Bolentino B&B. It is in a great location midway between the train station and the town of Varenna. We were a little confused when we got there on how to get into the gate and which apartment was the B&B, but we got in when someone came out of the gate and Renata saw... More

Renata and Antonio, the hosts at Il Bolentino, are the sweetest and most welcoming hosts I've encountered in a long time. They epitomize Mediterranean hospitality. Antonio met us at the train station and helped with the luggage all the way to the B&B, which is only a few mins away from the train station! The room was clean and comfortable... More

We have just returned from a beautiful vacation in Lake Como, staying at this family run B&B. It was in a perfect location from the train station and car ferry port (less than 500 meters) and a 10 min scenic walk from the central square. Rooms were clean, good value for money and the hosts were more than welcoming. Definitely... More

The perfect location for our three night stay in Varenna. Peaceful, quiet, close to the train station and the lake. Renata, couldn't have been a friendlier host. We had the room with a private bath. Plenty of space in both. Spotlessly clean. Lots of toiletries in the bathroom and a nice shower. Breakfast offered of bread, croissants, ceral, juice and... More

We stayed two nights in late July in the room with a private bath across the hall from our room. This B&B is just down from the train station at the main street. It is in the apartment complex (ring the bell labeled B&B Il Bolentino). Our room’s window opened onto the street, but the town went to sleep by... More

We stayed at this very clean and convenient B & B for four nights on our visit to Lake Como. The room was quiet, the hosts friendly and the bed comfortable. It's very close to the train station and the ferries to other parts of the lake. The 5 min. walk to town along the lakeside path is a treat.... More
