Ballagio lives up to it's name as the pearl of Como. The hotel fits perfectly within this. It has character and charm and every member of staff were worthy of working in such a charming place. They're all so very polite, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. The food was very good and we left the dining every night 'stuffed'. We booked... More

Just got back from a week in this hotel half board. Very nice twin room and great bathroom. Comfortable beds. Very quiet. Staff charming and helpful. Buffet breakfast and help yourself to first course at dinner then other 3 courses served to you. I mention this because many hotels have buffet dinners which are not to everyone's liking. Pretty garden... More

The Hotel Excelsior Splendide looks splendid from the outside, but is a little faded on the inside, It has however a great location on the main strip facing Lake Como . Try to get a room with lake view, its worth it. We had a room under the roof with a little balcony, which was cute. The hotel does NOT... More

We were welcomed to this hotel after a long day’s travel from the UK. The hotel seems a little run down but it doesn’t pretend to be anything fancy in its brochures. Not so much run down, just old fashioned. Our room overlooking the lake was oldfashioned with blankets on the bed instead of duvets, and the mattress could have... More

The staff are all warm and welcoming. The room is clean and has air con with its own mind. A small shower, no bath. The hotel bar is across the road.....and the chairs are none too comfortable. The food (we were on a half board tariff) is dull but inoffensive. Breakfasts choices are poor, the evening meals . . .... More

We have just had 4 nights here. Hotel Splendide is not 5 star, but very old world. Large marble stair case, huge hallways & high ceilings. Our room was enormous, with 3 large windows to take in the view, all with electronic shutters. The bathroom was also huge, by hotel standards. Bed was comfy, wifi was good & showers were... More

Dinner on the first night was taken in a crowded dining room. Waiting staff were overwhelmed due to under staffing. Subsequently, there were never more than 7 tables to serve and good relations and service were established. My wife is vegetarian and this factor appeared to be beyond the skill, ingenuity and knowledge of the chef, as the meals were... More

We stayed for 1 night only in May 2015. The hotel occupies a prime spot in central Bellagio. It has a snack bar and gelateria but the snack bar (over the hotel from the hotel) is again average and a pleasant place for a coffee of mid afternoon aperol and soda. The hotel itself has seen better days, the public... More

Great hotel we stay here every time.. The reason being it's a lovely hotel.. And the food is pretty good.. Well except for the scrambled egg.. But they do try to get it right.. Most of the staff are very helpful and kind.. And I must admit they really do work very hard... One person though on reception can be... More

My husband and I decided to have ice cream on our last night in Bellagio and we chose the terrace restaurant of the hotel, which is breathtakingly beautiful sitting at the lake's edge. We loved the large selection of ice cream sundaes and other "treats", and happily dug in while taking in the sunset. The problem? Our wait person ignored... More
