On the far corner of the quaint little lakeside village of Bellagio, the building is quite imposing yet inviting. The reception area lacks some style and reception was not quite as friendly and efficient as one would expect in such a place. The room also seemed somewhat dated and offered little charm and virtually no view. All this sit uncomfortably... More

The architecture is certainly grand with both great views & service. It's priced accordingly with our room being a very good size, well appointed with lovely views of the lake. Breakfast was taken in the ball room. The room has sensational classic architecture and the service was also very good. The food was good but nothing special for a high... More

It has been a few years since we were last at this hotel. It is indeed a GRAND hotel retaining some of the ambience of a bygone age. It is less stuffy than it used to be although they still like you to wear a jacket when dining in the Mistral restaurant. The building is stunning as is it’s location.... More

Tradition and history. This hotel didn't disappoint us. The staff is gorgeous and friendly. We reduced an upgrade to a lake view room which was amazing. It is a typical old grand Italian hotel: you have to take it as it is. This means some old fashioned furnitures. The elevator is ugly and cold. The indoor pool is a joke,... More

I spent 3 amazing nights here and felt like royalty. The hotel building is old world charm and the surrounding gardens are well kept and manicured. Be mindful that if you drive there, the narrow street leading to the hotel is a pedestrian street and very narrow! I had a leased Peugeot 508 car and it was very scary and... More

Beautiful gardens, blue pool overlooking the lake and mountains, magnificent indoor lounge areas and a dinner restuarent with a view to forever remember make this a very special hotel to which those in the know return year after year. Grand Villa Serbelloni certainly delivers on its name in style and service but the child friendly staff and environment make for... More

What's not to like about this hotel! It is in a stunning location with fantastic views, the staff are welcoming and knowledgeable and the food is great. Our baby was a bit loud but the staff loved him so we didn't feel too uncomfortable atrial times. My only one quibble is some of the prices - €10 for a small... More

We stayed for four nights in July 2014 and wish we could have stayed for longer. The hotel is just like a stately home with beautiful carved ceilings and walls in the main rooms. Our bedroom was very spacious with a separate sitting room and very large bathroom with separate WC and bidet. A complimentary bottle of champagne and strawberries... More

This is truly a hotel worthy of its 5 star rating. The hotel is spectacular from the perfectly manicured gardens to delicious Italian cuisine by the pool. The staff were very pleasant and made our time here very enjoyable. Looking out over the pool to the lake was picture perfect. I can't wait to come visit again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni is one of the oldest and most elegant hotels in the Lake Como area and the only 5 star de-luxe hotel in Bellagio. From April to November the salons and the large lakeside garden offer guests the chance to enjoy a holiday far from the madding crowd and close to nature immersed in one of the most beautiful panoramas in the world.Lovers of peace and quiet can alternate the pleasure of a poolside drink with beauty treatments and programmers at Villa Serbelloni SPA, the hotel's own beauty farm. Or they can set off from the private dock for a motorboat trip to the historic gardens along the lake which, in Springtime, attract tourists from all over the world: especially for the wonderful flowering of the azaleas. ... more   less
