To be honest we didn't have the best introduction to the hotel as we had a vehicle and it can be very difficult negotiating your way to the hotel. I feel we were privileged to be staying right in the middle of beautiful old Bergamo. Breakfast was simple but nutritious. Bed was comfortable. The only real downside for me was... More

We stayed at the Gombit Hotel for two nights and would highly recommend it to others. We loved the stylish interiors with quirky details but also appreciated the thought which went into making visitors feel comfortable and with everything to hand. The bed was very comfortable and it was lovely having such a spacious room with well appointed bathroom. We... More

We stayed in the Gombit Hotel Bergamo for 3 nights in June. The hotel is described as a boutique hotel and has 13 rooms. Sadly if the same thought had gone into the practicalities as the (somewhat dubious!) style our stay would have been much more comfortable and pleasant. We stayed in room no. 6. The bathroom is rather a... More

We've been in Italy for almost 3 weeks now and this was our favorite place. The decor and atmosphere are quite modern and chic. You can tell that that every detail has been thoughtfully appointed. No problem with noise because the walls are so thick, although it does hinder wifi capability a bit. I find it interesting that others had... More

I was absolutely delighted not only by the beauty, taste, cleanliness, food (breakfast), and harmony of the hotel with its elegant and excellently well-done mixture of ancient and super modern/design arquitecture/decoration in every single corner, but also by the staff kindness and efficiency. A very kind receptionist prepared me a delicious capuccino at 6am while I was waiting fo the... More

Hotel is very good located in the old city. The design of the hotel and rooms is simply Italian. I believe Italians have it in their genes. It really is a work of art and finished to the highest standards. Breakfast was not very reach in variety but excellent in quality. Staff friendliness was ok, not less, not more.

This Hotel is ideally situated in the centre of the upper city of Bergamo- the only place to be if visiting .The inside of the hotel has been renovated in a modern but tasteful way that works. The staff was very helpful when it came to organising travel to and parking which can be difficult . They also helped with booking... More

This hotel is a modern place built into a very ancient building right in the middle of the central part of the upper town. There is a separate study room away from the bedroom, with the bathroom and a hallway separating the two. The quality of the workmanship throughout is exceptional. The lighting, flooring, bathroom fixtures (rain shower!), windows, etc... More

Modern interior, stylish and in harmony with the historical building. Nice design features everywhere like the small lights in the doors and windows... Perfect sized rooms, very clean, light and fresh. Bathroom is fantastic. Breakfast is served in a great ambiance, the food is fresh the variety is above the normal Italian way. Check in / check out smooth, staff... More

Tasteful, clean, modern hotel in a perfect location in the upper part of Bergamo. Helpful staff (though admittedly some young and perhaps a little shy), good sized room, great shower, a decent breakfast of cold meat, cheese, fruit, pastries (nothing hot - perhaps boiled eggs or omelettes could be added for those with a more substantial appetite?). The 'bar' is... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Thought of for those who seek a hotel as an artistic fascination, GombitHotel is the first design hotel within the ancient walls that surround Bergamo Alta, the ancient borough of Bergamo. Next to the Torre del Gombito, a thirteenth century stone tower, between being a collection of art and a workshop, the hotel is a great experimental laboratory and gallery where young artists work together to keep the interiors alive. A place for dreamers, created by dreamers. ... more   less
