We spent our final night in Italy, before flying out of Milan, at the Petronilla. Very nice small hotel with great service. Be warned though that it is quite a hike up to the old town (we should have driven!). Lots of activity nearby the hotel though with some decent restaurants and shopping.

Just returned from a brilliant holiday staying at this lovely hotel. The hotel is immaculately kept and the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated (the daily treats in the room were a nice surprise). The location is ideal to explore both the new and the old town with the stunning and vibrant old town being just a 20 minute walk... More

This was our second stay (three years apart) at Petronilla which confirmed that this is amongst the very very best small hotels in the world. Manager Uta's warm and very personal welcome set the scene for our enjoyment of stylish and supremely comfortable rooms (those beds really help to break the jet-lag cycle), lavish breakfast and all the helpful tips... Just stayed here for two wonderful nights!! The friendly, helpful staff made the experience more special as they treat you like friends!! Cannot ever remember in the hundreds of hotels I've stayed in such a warm welcome!! The breakfast is superb, the rooms are lovely and would love to come back in the near future!!

Thank you Hotel Petronilla and hotel director Uta for such a pleasant stay again! It was my second time there, and i can confirm my first impression: the caring, generous and helpful service, the charming room, the best area in Bergamo, large and comfortable sale de bain. Thank you Uta! Alessandra

Stayed for one night. Super attentive and friendly staff who helped you with what to do and where to eat. Great bedroom. Boutique appearance, comfortably beds, great shower and everything works seamlessly. Great breakfast too in a calm, chilled out space. Location is great too. We got a taxi to the old town and then walked back through the cobbled... More

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Petronilla in January. Uta and her team were fabulous. Our extended family group of 9 were looked after so well with all our needs anticipated before they even arose! Great breakfast - and rooms lovely - very modern with high end bathrooms. Small boutique hotel in great location with a personal touch. Thank... More

What can we say... The word sums up our five night stay. The owner/manager, a charming German lady, was extremely obliging, incredibly thoughtful and charming. As a small example, my fiancé and I were stranded in heavy rain and she arranged a taxi to pick us up from the Funicular station and met us personally at the door to her... More

I would highly recommend this hotel! Very nice! Very attentive and helpful staff! Good breakfasts with the variety of local cheeses and meats. And what the desserts! The real temptation! And cappuccino...mmm..We enjoyed! The hotel is very small- all rooms are decorated differently. To my opinion our room was a little bit simple - the design was laconic, however, the... More
