We had a junior suite with balcony overlooking the bay and gardens. It was very nice, perhaps a little noisy as it was close to the main road, which is busy at night time. Great breakfast. Wonderful location, close to the town and seafront. Staff very helpful

This was my fourth visit to the Metropole and I hope to return again and again. The staff as always was very kind, patient and most accommodating. By now I know just about all of the staff personnel by first name. The weather this year was quite mild and I spent many hours of enjoyment taking my afternoon drinks on... More

The location was perfect, the view was great, the price was very good, but would probably not go back. Like another reviewer, I disliked the wait staff and some of the front desk personnel. They both seemed very stressed - which I thought strange, as not much was going on, so the pressures must have come from their supervisors. The... More

Great hotel ontop of the hill on the main street of Santa Margherita, great room with a balcony with a fantastic view of the water, room was very spacious with the most friendliest staff I have ever encountered. I had experienced difficulties with our hirecar, Anna organised everything for us with the car rental company, could not recommend this hotel... More

This was a great hotel close to the train station and within easy walking distance to everything we needed. We walked to Portofino from Santa Margherita. We had a wonderful view from our room. Really enjoyed our stay.

Stayed two nights with a group traveling from the States and it was fabulous! View from our room was awesome, definitely would stay here again! Close to shopping center where we picked up dinner and brought back to room, wonderful!

We booked this partly due to its location near the train station as we planned some day trips to Cinque Terre and Portofino. We ended up taking a taxi when arriving as we weren't sure exactly where the hotel was and we were tired. We also took a taxi when leaving as there was a large hill to go up... More

The sound proofing of the windows against the traffic was excellent. Shame I could hear all the activity going on in the room next door. Leaving my luggage meant having it left in a corner of the entrance hall, where the staff couldn't even see it. I ate there the first evening I got there. The waiter seemed to think... More

As others, we chose to stay in Margherita rather than Portofino. A nice surprise when we checked in was a voucher for drinks and snacks on the terrace. The parking lot is small but no issue as a valet parks your car and brings it to you when needed. The staff was very helpful with carrying suitcases, providing names of... More

We visited Santa Margherita in June 2013 for one week, being accommodated at Metropole Hotel. We spend most of our time on the hotel beach (sunbathing and snorkeling). At the staff indication visited san Fruttuoso and Cinque Terre where we had a great time. The hotel services were on out taste, good food, kind and friendly staff and rooms that... More
