This hotel was another we used for an overnight stay on out tour to Italy in the car. it has obviously had better times. Nevertheless, the hotel was clean and the staff friendly with a pleasant breakfast. The hotel is a short walk from the lovely sea front with its restaurants and bars which were busy with a great atmosphere.

I'd been here in the beginning of September 14, we arrived very late in the night but the owner waited for us, we advise before that we will be in late. ...we received one room which looked a little bit "spooky" this was my perception. ...anyway in the morning we requested to change the room and we received another one... Located within walking distance to both the central city and the waterfront and with on-site parking as well, we overlooked the somewhat "shabby" condition of both our room and the hotel in favor of comfort, location and character. It is certainly an interesting place, with all manner of things to look at and read, and the walkable gardens and outdoor... More

Honestly, It is hard to rate this hotel. I am neither satisfied nor dis-satistfied. I only stayed for one night. It is an owner run hotel, but I found the owner not very responsive. I sent an email to the hotel 3 days before I arrived and asked for direction on how to get to the hotel from the train... More

Our second time in Santa Margherita and our first time at Hotel Mediterraneo. We were very pleased with our choice! Loved the whole feel of this old-world hotel from the interesting interior decorating of the front rooms, the charming breakfast room and the extremely friendly and helpful lady owner. It's location was excellent! Walking distance to the main centre and... More

We spent a lovely quiet night in this quaint hotel. We slept in a large, very comfy bed. The room was furnished in the old style and had a lovely big balcony with superb views up to the hills. It was centrally located and there was space...just about! ..to park our car. The staff were friendly and most helpful. Some... More

We spent three nights here in early September and it fit the bill perfectly for us. It's in a great location, steps from the main street and shopping district. The owner was really friendly, always going out of her way to make you feel welcome. Full of character, maybe a little 'busy' in the interior decorating department in the common... More

This hotel is so well situated. It's close to town and facilities but just far enough back to be away from the bustle. It can be a little noisy on weekend nights when town is busier but on the whole it's a lovely quiet position. The rooms are large and clean. Some may say dated but we liked the feel... More

A really interesting building, old and quaint, a big room with a decent bathroom, excellent breakfast and dinner, a quiet position and a very beautiful garden with free car park. A real find in expensive Santa Margherita

The hotel is very old and in need of much updating, the staff are very nice and accommodating. The location is perfect, close to boat marina for travel to Portofino and overall a beautiful area, the rooms are large although also old and could use some renovating, but neat and clean, and it was quite noisy during the night, people...
