Rapallo is a seaside resort town, a little past its best but still with plenty to offer. The Hotel Canali is a bit the same – it would have been lovely in its day but is now a bit faded. It’s a classic old seaside hotel in that it’s really designed to get you out of your room. The public... More

We have just spent a week here and found the hotel to be charming. We booked a Superior room through Citalia and had a lovely room on the second floor, with two balconies and sea views. Everything was very clean. The breakfast had a good choice, the staff even make you a free cappuccino or espresso. The most important factor... More

I would give a good rating to this hotel, overall: I found the room to be spotlessly clean and breakfast very good. The only thing that did not make any sense was that bag of potato chips and a cheap bottle of Chianti of the lowest quality in the room for 12 euro...please.........

We did not stay at this hotel. However, we stopped in late on a Saturday night to see if they had a room available. We did not have reservations and were driving around looking for a room. They were full that night but the girl at the desk offered to check online to see if any local hotels had a... More

In my experience of Italian hotels Hotel Canali is typical and traditional. The bedroom and bathroom were simple with all the essentials provided (basic toiletries, hairdryer, air-con and a tiny safe) as well as adequate storage. I would suggest that new towels to replace those provided, whilst not threadbare by any means were not as good quality as I would... More

The hotel is located quite a bit outside of the city in a residential neighbourhood where the hotel does not fit in at all... We booked a basic room (the cheapest one) which reminded us of a monestary. The website does say these rooms are for travellers appreciating "things from the past" but we would have never expected anything so... More

The Hotel Canali is about a 15 minute walk through a park from the town, set up a quiet road. Although close to other buildings, the hotel provides a calmer location to the busy town of Rapallo. The hotel retains much of it's 1920's charm and has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The hotel has a shaded balcony area with... More

I am in Rapallo often and I have being trying different hotels this one was very disappointing considering that is given 4 stars, not sure why, the room we got was on the lower level were you can smell humidity, the crown moulding is falling a part and the room didnt say four stars at all! There is no restaurant,... More

We stayed for three nights. The hotel has many pluses. The location is good; only a short walk to the centre, the waterfront and the train station and it has parking which is very important in Rapallo. The staff are great; always smiling and helpful. Breakfast offered a good selection with some seating outdoors. However, the room was disappointing, overlooking... More

We stayed for 7 days in a second floor room with a balcony. There is a partial view of the sea from the balcony and it was very pleasant to sit outside in late afternoon or evening and enjoy a drink before dinner. The room itself was large enough with plenty of storage space in the closet and cabinets. The... More
