My rating is based on central European standards, elsewhere in the world, I'm sure this hotel would be marketed as five star. It's a beautiful building, could probably do with a little refurbishment here and there and perhaps a bit more care taken over the house-keeping (couple of blown light bulbs etc). That's the negative comments done with! Staff are... More

Worthy of more than 4 starts - at least 4*S. Excellent, elevated position - so able to see the magnificent Portofino / Santa Margherita coast line aross the bay. Very comfortable large room with small balcony facing the pool and the views. Really excellent Restaurant with delicious food - especially the professionality of GianLuca the restaurant manager and his young,... More

Clean rooms, fantastic views. The staff was very nice, offered us a lot of good advice about exploring the surrounding area. The hotel is a little off center, it's about 15 minutes walk to Rapallo. If you want to go to Portofino, you can catch a ferry - definitely don't use a taxi, unless you have too much money. The... More

Staff ignorant, air con not working, stains on bedroom carpets and food & drink overpriced. Was not catered for English. I will be going back to Sorrento in future much friendlier people and more beautiful place. On checkout not one person enquired had we had a lovely time. Really disappointed will never go back.

While visiting the Cinque Terre last week, we thought it would be great to explore further up the coast line and head towards Genoa. We made it as far as Rapallo and decided to go no further (it's such a charming place!) We found availability at this hotel on Orbitz for a very good price ($190 a night for a... More

This hotel was poor considering its rating. The faults were many in our opinion, relating to the staff quality.Reception girls were reticent to pass usual courtesies, breakfast staff were slow serving coffee etc.The breakfast buffet ran out of eggs & milk two days running & had to be reminded to refill. Whem my wife felt ill & didnt want to eat in... More

The hotel is located about 1 1/4 miles from the center of Rapallo, or 25 minute walk. A cab will cost 15 euro each way to get to town. Parking a car in town is very difficult. Your reservation may say "Wi-Fi free" but it is only free for 2 continuous hours/day. 24 hour free Wi-Fi is 7 euro for... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Grand Hotel Bristol. The hotel is a huge pink Belle Époque-era visible from right across the bay, slightly reminiscent of the Grand Budapest Hotel (a la Wes Anderson!). The location is superb as it is perched overlooking the stunning Bay of Tegullio across to Portofino and you can take breakfast on the... More

We stayed in this hotel in Rapallo as it was convenient for visiting Portofino and the Cinque Terre villages. we had a room with a balcony and sea view and views over the bay are absolutely stunning morning noon and evening. The staff are friendly and there is a lovely outside pool area, pool towels provided and comfy loungers for... More
