Let’s face it … the hotel is OK, the service is good, and management tries to make it as fancy as possible … but none of it justifies 540 EUR for a small standard room (rate in August 2014). The 540 EUR are for the privilege of being right in Portofino, instead of somewhere nearby. Pluses: + Location, right in... More

We spend three days and two nights at this little perfect boutique hotel. Although the weather wasn't very good the first day, we find everything charming. The staff was helpful, the room was one of the most beautiful we've ever been. We had dinner at the "eight restorant" at Paraggi. Excellent! So romantic place! We will be back next year!!!!... More

We were almost one half mile from the port near a very busy taxi stand, parking garage and auto garage. The small jacuzzi in back was in a small run down garden with many Mosquitos . The 7th floor room we were in had a low peaked ceiling and near the tub, was do low that we kept hitting our... More

Amazed by the glowing reviews here. The rooms are nice but super small, there is no pool and the very grungy garden is overrun by Mosquitos. The price is ridiculous and it's not even on the port (yes, everything in Portofino is ridiculously priced which amazes me because they really isn't anything there to see or do!) You can walk... We want to thank Francesco and his coleagues for a great welcome and service. The room was fantastic, romantic, and everythign was nice. The hotel is walking distance from the port and the center. We recommend you ask the hotal staff for a restaurant recommendation because we loved the place they sent us to. Portofino is beautiful even though it... More

Eight is the quintessential Luxury Boutique Hotel of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World for sure. It had everything one could have asked for in this quaint port. Yes, it's expensive but you knew that before you went. After 25 plus years, nothing had changed, as relaxing or as adventurous as you would want. Plenty to do; bays to... More

Hotel is not in the port, that's pitty, but about 5 - 10 minutes walk. The walk goes uphill - it's not a tough one, not even a challenge, but you may have a problem if you have any kind of disability. So location is 4 stars. The hotel itself is very nice, a room we got quite small, but... More

We received an upgrade which was very nice... It is a very quiet hotel, service is great but expect to pay top dollars because you are in Portofino... Location is close to the port and the bus stop... Continental breakfast was included as well as parking...

The room was nice and clean and smelled good. It was bright and I was able to take pictures of the fireworks from Lincoln Field. We ordered room service before the concert and the girls said the food was great.

Very good stay. Terrace and jaccuzi are poor. Nice design. Almost no parking. We will come back. Personel is very gentle. Portofino is very nice. Ask the hotel where to go for dinner. Restaurants are verh commercial, touristic and way to expensive for what you get. Watch out!!
