If you are traveling to Portofino on a budget (which is somewhat counter-intuitive in itself) Hotel Eden is a great place to start. While it will be more expensive that other hotels a budget conscious Italian traveler may encounter, after enough research, it is certainly on the cheaper end for Portofino. Staying by the rail station in Santa Margherita (only... More

The location can't be beat! The owner is a hilariously un-emotional italian older man that we really enjoyed. The room was reminiscent of an average hotel in NYC...very tiny and basically just a bed. BUT, there is breakfast in the morning and it's fine for just a place to sleep in an absolutely stunning location.

This hotel is fine for what we sought...a nice, clean, cost efficient room for a few nights right in the heart of this small scenic town, within an easy walk with roller-luggage from the only bus stop! Simple? Not often. Hotel Eden deliver for a 5 out of 5. It has a very nice scenic setting too. I recommend it.

This hotel is perfectly situated just off the main square. We wanted to be near the port and all the shops and restaurants and this was ideal. The hosts were most welcoming and the hotel was full of Italian charm. Breakfast was served outside on the terrace and there was a good continental selection to choose from. The room was... More

I think any review of anything in Portofino has to have the caveat "for Portofino" added to it. For example the price (in the depths of the off-season in December) was good - for Portofino. We paid 100 euro for a double room. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We had a large terrace on the first floor with a... More

For location, it's perfect, tucked inside the tiny Portofino village, walking distance to everything. Parking available in nearby garage. Our room was clean and comfortable-- a little dated, but charming for a night with a nice breakfast served the next morning outside on the beautiful terrace/garden. The other reviews are spot-on, but it's Portofino...Italia... take it or leave it! LOL.... More

The Italians continue to live off the somewhat faded splendour of a bygone era and this hotel, in Portofino, is a good example. It's a basic 3 star hotel and, at that level, anywhere else it would be overpriced - E200 per night if you want to avoid three flights if stairs and a room you can't stand up in.... More

"Well what do you expect for €200 ?" We asked when we showed our dismay at the tiny bedroom my husband and I were shown to. Melamine plastic everywhere , headache inducing flowery wallpaper and carpets to match. Foam pillows. Nylon counterpanes. Get the picture? Definitely not a place we shall return to.

If you plan to stay overnight in Portofino we can definitely recommend this place as the value is good for the money. we spent 160€ for a tiny attic room which was clean and quiet. Breakfirst is simple but ok. beware of sometimes grumpy owner. I think he's been in the business for too long...

We stayes here for 4 nights and are very pleases. The room in good size and clean, the location is superb, just 50m from the harbour. Calm athmosphere with small nice Eden like garden. Good standard, not fancy but clean and properly taken care off. Can absolutely recommend to couples, and even for families.
