A decent hotel, but a little far from the city centre. It took about 10-15 minutes by bus from La Spezia central station, but the problem was the bus did not run very often after 7pm, so it could be very time-consuming if you don't have a car. Other than the location, the rest was fairly good. The bed was... More

Our family used that hotel as base for MSC Divina cruise. We spent one night there before the ship boarding. When we arrived to La Spezia after 13 hrs drive by car, we felt quite tired. Similarly looked city and hotel too. If you would come from highway, you will see industrial face of La Spezia. Hotel itself is located... More

The hotel is situate right opposite the “Palazzetto dello sport” Sport center of La Spezia and therefore if you need to stay close to that area this is the hotel to be in. The service is quite good and everyone is pretty helpful and nice, particularly the lady I believe to be the owner or in any case at top... More

Only lacks the last bullet due to the distance to the citycenter(approx 2 km). Not a fancy place, but clean and spacious rooms = very good value for money (especially due to the fact that breakfast is included) Hotel offers shuttle bus to both train and the ferries - don't miss out on the Cinque Terre:-) Will look for this... We chose the Hotel Ghironi as a base for a six night visiting the Cinque Terre and the Gulf of Poets because of its location near the motorway exit on the outskirts of La Spezia and the parking offered with the promise of a shuttle service in and out of the town. This was excellently organised, just a ten minute... More

What a comfortable, user-friendly hotel! While you might think it is inconvenient to stay in La Specia instead of in the Cinque Terre directly, I have done both. This is preferable and requires little extra effort, as once you have taken the free shuttle to the train station, you will likely spend the day hiking anyway, so it matter not where... More

Chose Hotel Ghironi because hotels in inner LS would have off-site paid parking . This hotel proved to be worth it with its 2.5 Euros shuttle service to the train station . Not super new as it is a renovated building but very clean and professional . Away from hustle and bustle and big rooms at great rate. Wifi can... More

The staff at Hotel Ghironi was so helpful. Kathy was wonderful as well as the hotel manager. They have a shuttle that takes you to the train station during the day. Cinque Terre was really a special treat. Five little villages with no cars. The staff recommended Port Venere. We walked to the bus station.(it cost $3.00 to get there)... More

Loved the front desk staff - they were most helpful....great suggestions when we had a "rainy" day! Breakfast was very good - lots to choose from. A little bit out of the way - BUT - free shuttle to the train station! Great neighborhood restaurant about a 5 minute walk away .! WiFi is a bit "spotty". Our room was... More

The Hotel Ghironi may not be in the best local, but there are restaurants and food markets within walking distance. The staff was absolutely wonderful!! They helped us out with train tickets and the boat schedule so that we could visit the Cinque Terre. The room we had was comfortable and had a balcony that looked out to the sea.... More
