I wanted to stay in la Spezia for one night to catch an early train after having been in Cinque Terre for a few days. The hotel is right next to the train station. The hotel is ok but the mattresses are hard and to top it off, the pillows were just as hard which makes it hard to get... More

I chose the hotel because of its proximity to the railway station as I had an early departure the next day. It is very close to the station and that connection worked well. On the negative side - the room was not ready at the time indicated. OK I only waited 30 mins but it was poor., The whole ambiance... More

We stayed at the Firenze Continental in May 2014 for 4 nights when visiting Cinque Terre. The hotel is very close to La Spezia station - 2 minutes walk. The hotel was charming and a little old worldy. The reception staff were excellent and very helpful. Our room was on the 4th floor with a view toward the hills. The... More

Room was quite sizeable, guy at check in was excellent and informative and it somehow manages to be in a quiet location yet just a stone's throw from the station. But wifi was non-existent which was a bit frustrating in terms of planning the next stages of our journey, trainee who manned reception for most of our stay was next... More

We traveled to La Spezia by train on visit to Cinque terre. It was an easy walk from train station. The rooms were comfortable and rather modern with good bathrooms. The downstairs reception rooms were comfortable and welcoming. The breakfast room is on an upper floor with a great view and the breakfast buffet was very nice. The wifi was... More

This was a great hotel and conveniently located to the train station. The hotel itself was nice and charming. The bathrooms have recently been renovated and done very nicely. Avoid the rooms facing the train station as it is very noisy. If you keep the windows closed you should be fine. We stayed in room 35 and were there for... More

The Hotel Firenze E Continentale in La Spezia is in the perfect location, right next to the railway station, and to stay here is to walk back in time to the era of genteel downtown small hotels offering service and charm. Like in an old time movie, you turn in the paper weight size key at the front reception each... More

My family (myself, wife, and 22 year old daughter) absolutely loved the Hotel Firenze, in La Spezia. Location: As other reviewers have noted, so convenient near the train station. An easy 3 minute walk. Obviously, the train station takes you to all of the Cinque Terre towns in just a few mins for 1.50 Euro each way. Or you can... More

Having travelled a lot in Italy we booked in advance and whilst it was clean and well located, given the price we found at nearly 200 euros for a suite was a lot given the standard when compared to others during our trip. Slightly faded glory on the interior and rooms compared to others in the vicinity. Breakfast is served... More

In keeping with the thread of reviews the Hotel Firenze e Continentale La Spezia is located steps away from the train station. You'd think being by the train station would make it noisy, but no...not any more so than any city hotel. The staff is very friendly & helpful. Rooms are clean. Restaurants are within walking distance, as is a... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
he 3 star Hotel Firenze and Continentale in La Spezia dates back to the beginning of the last century and is today one of the premier luxury accommodations in this historical city that sits just at the foot of the Cinque Terre National Park. The elegant building's aristocratic feel is accentuated with quality decor, furnishings and other thoughtful complements including Carrara marble floors, Trompe l'Oeil murals, Mogano boiseries and hand beaten iron and brass lamps.A top quality 3 star hotel located in the historical city centre of La Spezia, the Hotel Firenze and Continentale is just a few short steps from the newly pedestrianized heart of the town and close to La Spezia Centrale train station, making for quick and easy connections to the Cinque Terre in a couple of minutes.Having undergone regular renovation since the first part of the 20th century, the Firenze and Continentale La Spezia is now regarded as one of the finest accommodations in the city while still maintaining the building’s original architectural identity - typified by that liberty style grandeur of the pre-WWI era. ... more   less
