Gorgeous little boutique hotel right in the centre of La Spezia. No access by road as it is in the old town but parking is not too far away (about 100m). Room was small but we were barely in there as there is so much to do around town. Service was exceptional and staff went out of their way to... More

Rick Steves has very few nice words to say about La Spezia, Italy, and recommends that his readers stay in one of the five villages of the Cinque Terre. I disagree. We spent 3 nights in La Spezia at the Hotel Crismar and wouldn't have done it any other way. Yes, the villages are charming, beautiful and probably wonderful places... More

Good evening, thanks a lot for your review! We absolutely agree with you: La Spezia is the perfect base for exploring the Cinque Terre area! The villages are marvellous but it could be difficult to reach the hotel/room with lot of baggages in the ultra crowded season (and July is right in the middle of it!). La Spezia offers also... Hotel Crismar is a charming little eight room, family owned and operated hotel located in the heart of the pedestrian/tourist/shopping area of La Spezia. It has everything you need for a short stay and is a perfect location for touring the Cinque Terre and Portofino coastal areas. The hotel is within a ten minute walk to the train station but... Good evening, thanks for your opinion! Your description fits perfectly to our hotel and it will be very useful to our future guests :)! We have "only" two stars basically because Liguria region's law requires a 24hours reception service to assign three stars. This is a regional law, so you can find in other parts of Italy 3 stars hotel... More

The staff are very helpful even before you arrive, staying in contact by email and providing instructions on parking as it is located in a pedestrian zone. They provide maps and train/ferry schedules for Cinque Terre which was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable with nice beds and a good bathroom. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to the... More

We stayed in the two bedroom apartment, there was plenty of room for two couples. It was very comfortable and clean. It is in a very quiet area although not far from the station or the wharf, where you can catch trains or a boat to the Cinque Terre towns. There are plenty of eat places close by.The staff were... We stayed at Crismar Hotel last summer, and we wanted to stay here this summer also. The service is excellent, with nice and very helpful host. The rooms are nice. The breakfast is good. The hotel is perfect located. There was nothing that we didn't like about our stay.

We stayed 6 nights in July 2015. Pros: -nice and friendly staff -clean hotel -location -free bike rental Cons: -no soundproof between rooms -drain smell randomly -no balcony or any view from room -breakfast (limited choice, you had to choose either one croissant or one bun, you had to ask waitress for more coffee or juice)

Wonderful small quite hotel situated in a picturesque courtyard. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was decorated bright and modern. Only negative comment would be that you could only use the fridge in your room if you bought the drinks from the front desk. Do not agree with this policy as I believe when you pay for a... More

Good evening Paul, thanks a lot for your review, your words make us proud of our work :-)! Regarding the policy about personal items in the fridge...we had to adopt it because in the past years we had many problems with guests who filled the little fridge in the room with a lot of personal food, such as cheese, meat,... I almost missed finding the place because it isn't on the main street but is just down a small alley all by itself where you don't get all the street noise. The owners are a friendly, happy couple. The rooms are small (we stayed in the Riomaggiore at the top of the stairs. The location is still within walking distance... More
