We booked this hotel because it was late and we didn't have much choices around. But upon arrival (extremely busy piazza) we were warmly greeted by the man in the reception, who helped us with everything we wanted. In general the staff is very good, completely different from this huge hotels well-trained smiles. Room was somewhat basic, but everything was... More

Good priced hotel close to Brignole station. Within walking distance of the historic centre of Genova through the very commercial Via XX Settembre. Yet in a residential area with non touristic shops and bars and restaurants. And the scenic Mercato Orientale. The hotel is in the first floor of a dark and somewhat lugubrious building. A very friendly staff and well... More

The rooms were very clean. Two brothers are helpful and friendly. The location is good and a very short walk to the Brignole train station. Coffee in the morning was very good and breakfast was adequate. Both brothers were helpful in recommending restaurants and giving directions to the local laundromat.

Many of my kind readers probably begin to wonder why my hotel reviews are quite similar. It simply happens because of my priorities when choosing a place as my home out of home. Top priorities are three, in order of importance. Cleanliness, price and LOCATION. This is why we choose Hotel Ricci. Clean, affordable and ideally located. When you are... More

First time staying in Genoa and Hotel Ricci. The hotel lobby is on the second floor and there is a lift. We were met by a very pleasant English speaking young man, Michele, (sorry if we got the spelling wrong). He showed us to our room making sure everything all was right. The clean room was well appointed with a... More

This small, family run hotel on Piazza Colombo in Genoa is in a perfect position to discover this calm, friendly and interesting city. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the main Brignole railway station and just a short stroll to Via Settembre XX which leads to Piazza de Ferrari which is a great spot to pick up the... This hotel is close to the train station and at the tail end of the main walking street. Overall it was fine but not really memorable.

Very conveniently located in a quiet side street piazza three minutes away from Brignole station, the second-floor hotel is a simple one but offers clean and comfortable rooms. The neighbourhood offers several budget restaurants where I felt I was part of an extended Italian family. A thoroughly good experience overall.

The manager was cranky and impatient because I could not speak Italian. Lots of huffing and puffing and rolling of eyes. Perhaps if you work in a tourist hotel a few words of English might be useful with your guests.
