I'm giving this hotel and excellent rating for the price and the friendly staff. It is not a upscale 5 star hotel. But for a single mother who likes to take her kids on adventures to see the world without a ton of money to spend, this is a great place to stay. We had 6 people in our group... More

Having read a few poor reviews on this hotel our expectations were not high, sure it's not in the most salubrious of areas and the entrance is not the most imposing, but the reception we received was welcoming and helpful. Our room, at the rear, overlooked a car park and had some noise but generally it was fine, clean and... More

We were looking for a relatively cheap hotel to stay in for the night on our way back from Cinque Terre to Geneva. We paid about $100 for it for the night. I am guessing that is a good price for a hotel in Genoa but it wasn't very nice. The bed, two twins put together, was super hard. The... More

I had no complaints about the hotel until we came to go to bed. Now it was a party weekend in Genoa so it may have a been a one off. Basically until I went down and complained to the hotel and the kebab shop staff there was a party going on below our room in their upstairs to the... More

We spent 3 nights here. Found the staff helpful and friendly. As with the other reviews it is close to transport and the area is ok. Can't believe the dodgy area comments! Would stay again by Italy standards.

The only problem we had was finding the place, the sign on the side of the building says Soglia Hotel, Hotel Brittannia is only visible above the door and we walked right past it. We did have to wait a while for the receptionist as she was on the phone but service was polite. We had a large quiet room... More

Firstly, we arrived at 11.00 and we were told we had to come back at 2.00 to check in, fine however, we arrived back at 2.00pm and were told it would be 5 minutes before our room would be ready, after waiting in front of the reception for nearly an hour we asked what was happening only to be told... We arrived at about 10 am, so before check in, but the receptionist said our room would be ready in an hour so we dropped our bags in a back room and went for a walk around town. When we returned there was a different receptionist that said we had no reservation (even though I showed her my confirmation email)... More

The hotel is situated a few minutes from the train station and a short walk from all of the UNESCO buildings. However, it is a pretty rough area and I would not feel comfortable walking alone during the night. The room itself had filthy carpets, weird decor and a type of TV I haven't seen since the 90's. There was... More

At first the hotel is located in an absolutely unsafe area with absolutely no parking . Second by the time we arrived the receptionist who barely speak any English realized that the room I booked was given by mistake to someone else so we ended up in a dirty smelly room somewhere at 5ft floor ...
