This was our first time in Genoa and we enjoyed the city, the museums, the cuisine and above all the accommodation in beautiful Palazzo Lomellino (located in Via Garibaldi) sooooo much! Locanda di Palazzo Cicala is located in this historical building just opposite the Cathedral but they have de charme apartments throughout the city centre and, since this was our... More

I would imagine all the apartments are all unique in their own ways and being part of a very old residence it will not be like staying in a 4 star hotel. Based on our experience - we ended up with a huge apartment overlooking the beautiful duomo for only £66 a night. Yes a lift up those 4 flights... More

So many things were wrong with this experience. Despite having asked in an email for some feedback after our experience we have received none. We had researched accommodation in Genoa very carefully months before our arrival, and secured a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with a lounge/dining area, roof terrace, kitchen and elevator through Palazzo Cicala. About three weeks before... More

1) Even though we had a confirmation, with their own confirmation number even, they gave our room away and when we got there it we were seriously f'ed. It was a busy weekend and getting a hotel was next to impossible. 2) Even if we could have gotten our room. You can't drive up to the place, as the streets... More

The location of the hotel is great. The reception staff were very friendly on arrival and departure. One negative is that I didn't realise while booking that I wouldn't be staying in the main building but in an apartment a few streets away - HOWEVER - the apartment was lovely and very spacious and I think I actually enjoyed my... This is the story of a hotel special. When we arrived there we were coming from Monte Carlo by car. The center of Genova is closed to the trafic but you could arrive to your hotel as special service. You have to resolve the laberynth to get there and find the corner of the square where is located, totally hidden... More

No doubt that this hotel is hard to find - do not even consider trying to find it without detailed directions - but we found a hidden surprise when we finally did arrive. We had booked an apartment to have a bit more room with kids and got a huge property with a private roof terrace and good views -... More

I agree with the review above. I booked a room in Piazza San Lorenzo. We had great difficulty finding the front door. The pleasant receptionist gayly told us we had received an upgrade and then led us off down the street to another building where we were taken to a modern and characterless apartment. If I had wanted this I... More

This is one of the weirdest hotel experiences ever. You can't find it, even if you are outside the door, and once buzzed in you still can't find it (unless you have been here before). Then there was no staff outside of a lone receptionish. I had to lug the luggage around....then they gave me a place in another building... More

We spent a 2-day weekend in this hotel. Well, it may not exactly qualify as a four-star hotel with all of you (it has limited service), but if you are looking for comfortable and recently refurbished rooms / bathrooms in the old city, then this may be a perfect place to start your visit of Genoa. We stayed in an... More
