Good sizeable room, comfortable bed. Flat screen TV (but no English channels). Adequate breakfast buffet, good local pastries (didn't try the chocolate cake!). Best for those on public transport as parking will be a problem- short walk to Brignole station which has connections all over Italy and bus/metro for easy access around Genoa. All together a good choice

At our arrival a very short tempered concierge, Ms Valentina, told me that the hotel did not have any parking and they never had it (I had stayed at the hotel two years previously and could park in front of the hotel!). Then she gave me the key to my room. I returned downstairs as the room was a twin... More

We stayed here for three nights before embarking on a cruise to Cape Town. The hotel is perfectly situated for getting about the city and beyond, being across the square from Metro, bus and train stations. Very easy to get to lots of lovely places including Portofino and Commogli. The dockland area is also very interesting and well worth a... More

Stayed here 3 nights in room 112, which overlooked a busy street (we needed earplugs even with the excellent, heavy windows closed). The room was big with some nice pieces of furniture---a beautiful armoire comes to mind. Very tall 10 foot ceilings with a frescoed ceiling. We were delighted. Nice bathroom with bath, plenty of hot water, very good internet,... More

A good location for visiting Genoa on foot as its close to bus stops and train station and a 10 minute walk to Piazza Ferrari. The Hotel has a very grand feeling to it - lots of old fixtures and fittings. The lift is an old style metal gated timber box, which gives an extra feeling of stepping back in... More

Great, old fashioned railway hotel in superb location. 5 minutes walk from Brignole, 15 minutes walk from the Old Town. Very quiet, massive rooms, original decor in some, and bygone charm throughout. Breakfast is superb, especially the cornetti and cappuchino.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night July 13th 2013. We arrived to this hotel Saturday night and was not very impressed by its location. We were driving and finding parking around the hotel was very hard. Finally we got a spot but the cars are parking so close to each other that we could not get out of... More

My wife and I plus our two girls stayed here in June 2013 for several days while visiting family in Genova. The building is very close to the train station and extremely convenient for anything downtown. Parking can be an issue. There is a lot half a block away, but it is not manned 24-hours, so when they close you... More

I stayed at this hotel recently on a business trip to Genoa. The Astoria Hotel is not a business hotel as it does not offer the little bits of luxury a business man (travelling light) would normally expect from a hotel (slippers, bathrobe, dry clean service, business services). The hotel is very conveniently located, the breakfast is good and the... More
