We stayed here last summer and I am just getting around to reviewing. I have no idea how this place got four stars. The rooms are dark and depressing and the air conditioning is totally inadequate. It is run by a young couple and he is just short of rude - she is a doll. This is the type of... more

My room was a lot more basic than the ones in the photos others have uploaded. That said, rooms and bathrooms very clean and cannot be faulted. Excellent location. Didn't have breakfast there as there are a million amazaing places to eat in the area. Good if you're on a budget, but if you're looking for anything more than that,... more

We stayed here at the end of a two week trip to northern Italy. The location is great - we walked from the train station (about 10 minutes); and all of the sights are within minutes of the hotel. Some great restaurants close by too (Gaia is right around the corner). But there was a banging noise every night and... more

Quirky little hotel on the 3rd floor of building in centre of town. There is a very small lift, which broke down on our second day but was fixed pretty quickly. Rooms are small with closet bathroom in one corner which managed somehow to include a bidet! There is a small communal terrace overlooking the backs of other buildings, not... more

This hotel is in the perfect location if you're coming by train -- just a 10-15 minute walk (even with luggage). It's right on the edge of the center of town so once you're at the hotel, you don't even need to cross any more main streets to get around. Massimiliano at the hotel gave us fantastic recommendations for dinners,... more

Great little hotel near the sights and sounds of Genoa. Very helpful staff who spoke excellent English and were more than happy to help out with all our queries, good family room and a great breakfast. Nice and clean with interesting/quirky decor throughout. The kids loved the old fashioned elevator up to reception. Beware, no AC so could get a... more

We've just stayed for one night, but would go there again any time - it's an unusual hotel, in the middle of town, near sights and restaurant, easy walking everywhere. Friendly staff, good breakfast. WiFi and internet terminal a plus. more

The two staff members we dealt with were very helpful. The room was larger than the others we'd had. The breakfast was good. The location was central to both trainstations. When we walked in from the Genova Pricipale Sunday afternoon, we thought we'd make a mistake with regards to the area, because everything was closed, but it wasn't bad after... more

I was very pleased by my stay at the Hotel Cairoli which I can honestly say served the best coffee of any hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff were obliging, cheerful and friendly. more

We booked this hotel based on the Rough Guide review. Nothing specifically wrong with this hotel. We found that the accommodations were average; the front desk were quite helpful and provided good restaurant recommendations; good location. The Rough Guide did indicate that the rooms were sound proof - which they were not. I guess that is what we get from... more
