I only saw a little of Genoa bit what I saw I did not like. The hotel surroundings are old and dirty. Lots of traffic. Noisy. On the positive side, the hotel is right next to the ferry port - which has a small mall, including a McDonalds and a small supermarket. As soon as you enter the Colombus, you... More

The hotel is near the ferry harbor (and ask for a room overlooking the harbor to see this active place). Room is spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good. You get only 1 hour free WiFi per day, which is a big minus. It is not in a walking distance to any of the interesting touristic pace in Genoa.

Genoa is not a tourist destination, it is so run down, I felt unsafe and I felt like I was in another country as it did not feel like it was part of Italy, it was a total shock coming from Tuscany and Florence to this place. We stayed here as we were on our way to see an old... More

Columbus Sea Hotel is a fine hotel when you are waiting to board the ferry. Having a room at the harbour side, means yiu have to accept this alive area. Service is ok, rooms are ok, free wifi (excellent!) and breakfast was also very good and diverse. I had no complains what so ever!

We used Hotwire and got this hotel last minute. The road is really hard to find, it took us 5 times to find the right turn. While we were trying to find the way to enter to hotel street. There were about 10 prostitutes on the sidewalk!!!! Then we finally got to the hotel. The parking was full. The receptionist... More

The room was clean and quite spacious (for Italian standards). The bathroom was big and clean. I can't classify this as 4 stars but for the price we paid, I thought this hotel in Genova in the height of summer was value for money (especially with free parking).  The breakfast has what you would expect of a 3 stars hotel.... They do not deserve even one. Avoid this place. Do not forget the "hotel" and the name of Columbus will I associate with a nightmare. Noisy air conditioning and ventilation properly because they do not cool. We slept with the windows open. Headache, terrible breakfast. Since then I check please show room. Hotel old, smelly and dirty. Where are the... More

There were two terrible things about the hotel: the location and the poor air-conditioning. The hotel is not very close to major sights and is located in unpleasant area of Genoa. The windows were looking to the industrial harbour. The view was awful and the noise was terrible. The air-conditioning was very poor, we could not sleep properly. The hotel... More
