A beautiful and out of the way B&B with wonderful charm and service. We spent two very enjoyable nights with Angela and Fabio. We wish we could have stayed longer. We arrived by train from Florence and found our way to the B&B. The hike from the train station to The Hermitage is a bit steep so travel light. Storage... More

Hermitage was a gorgeous B&B with a beautiful view. Not for the faint hearted, we made the mistake of trying to take our luggage up thinking it wouldn't be so bad for a fit young couple! It was really hard work and we had to have numerous breaks, very steep incline and over 400 stairs. But it's nice if you... More

You may be attracted by the photos of this place but you will get the same view of the sea from the trail running in and out of Vernazza - you don't have to stay here to have that lovely view, and you certainly don't want to say here for the accommodation. Our room was poorly lit, with old furniture,... More

We booked a room at The Hermitage based on other reviews here. We were not disappointed! We arrived in Vernazza prepared for the hike, and stowed most of our luggage in our vehicle, bringing only a backpack with what we needed for our two day stay. I handed over the directions to find the place to my husband, who found... More

It really is a bit of hike to get to this place. It is up along the hiking path to Corniglia, a bit of town. If you travel with a lot of luggage, you might not enjoy the climb because you have to carry everything up a rugged trail (no guard rail) with stone steps. My family used bags that... More

We stayed at the Hermitage 6 years ago and returned specifically to visit the Cinque Terre and stay at the Hermitage again. We were not disappointed. Booking our room was very easy since Angela was quick to respond to emails. We stayed again in the room that opens directly onto the shared terrace. You lay in bed and can hear... More

Otherwise known as Eremo Sul Mare, this place was perfect! However, do not book if you do not want to hike to get there. You have to earn this tranquil location and beautiful view by hiking up and out of the main town of Vernazza to get there. We found the hike to be more than worth the reward. The... More

I stayed at this lovely B&B for two nights with a friend while studying abroad. I couldn't have been happier with my stay! We had a great room near the terrace and a nice sized bathroom. The housekeeper (I can't remember her name) was so friendly and accommodating (the owners were out of town at the time). Upon arrival she... More

I loved this place and I couldn't have been happier with The Hermitage's location. It's not in the town so you have perfectly silent nights on a wooded cliff side cottage facing the ocean without being disturbed at all. Yet in the morning, within 10 minutes you're in the middle of town. It sits on the trail the blue trail... More

We loved our stay at the Hermitage. This hotel is for you if: You back pack; You leave in the morning and return in the evening; you like the outdoors; you like cats; you like adventure; you can walk up stadium stairs from the bottom to top without stopping; you need air conditioning; you are generally open minded.
