If you are in Vernazza you should try Gianni Franzi for lunch or dinner. They have fantastic outdoor seating with a harbor view or indoor seating with very charming atmosphere. Emmanuel took great care of us during dinner and we appreciated his kindness and personal service. You must try their pesto pasta as it is excellent and they have fresh... More

My family and I stayed here for three nights while exploring the Cinque Terre. Don't get me wrong, the location is amazing and we loved the relaxing nature of this place. Breakfast every morning was delicious and a perfect way to start our day. But, the staff is extremely surly and rude. Every time I've read a tripadvisor review that... More

We stayed here after much research and knew there were going to be a lot of stairs. Cinque Terre basically has steps everywhere so if you can't climb them this is not the town for you. We loved waking up to the ocean and going on daily hikes. The restaurant downstairs was one of the best we ate at so... More

We stayed at Gianni Franzi three nights based on Rick Steeves' guide book recommendation. The rooms and the upper terrace had been upgraded since Rick wrote his review. Breakfast is part of the package and it was served on the Terrace - a most spectacular setting - high above the Mediterranean on one side and the rising vineyards on the... More

Nice place to stay in Vernazza. The room was small but clean, and the wifi worked, not too well in the room. The staff is friendly and they own a restaurant that you need to check in at. Slight warning, there are a lot of steps to get up. If you have a lot luggage, it might be difficult. Great... More

This hotel Rocked! Our first time vacationing in Cinque Terre and couldn't have been a more pleasant experience. Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. We were worried because we got into Vernazza after check in time but a note was left with contact information. Let's just say that alone eased our tension. Views were picturesque and we will definitely... More

Cannot argue with the view! Laying in bed, listening to the waves, was incredible. The included breakfast is nice as well, (except for when they tell you it isn't included). Our room was on the 3rd (4th) floor, and was just big enough for a bed. No frills for sure! Shared bathroom reminded me of a hostel, but it was... More

I had a double room that was comfortable. The bathroom was tiny but when you're on your own that doesn't matter so much! There's no AC here but as I was on the ground floor that didn't worry me so much. The room was clean and was cleaned like clockwork each morning (they're friendly and kind of funny!). The bed... I have stayed at Gianni Franzi twice, once in fall and once in summer. the location above the harbor is ideal. they have three large outdoor public spaces. One is used for breakfast and wine tastings and the other two are for guests to relax. the views over the water from the two that overlook the sea are spectacular. getting... More

A month in Italy and my ONLY bad accommodation review.... Had it not been for the outstanding views from the 2 decks overlooking the ocean at Tratorria Gianni Franzi, I would have given this place a "terrible" rating. From their website, on the history of the tratorria,"Before WWII the Trattoria della Stella was the property of a local character known... More
