I contacted Michele about a year and a bit ago wanting to book accommodation early, as my husband and I were planning our wedding in Vernazza! Michele was more than helpful throughout the year, offering tips and suggested links to post on our wedding website. When we finally arrived in Vernazza, and met Michele for the first time, we both... more

I had never even heard of Cinque Terre or Vernazza until we booked this break on the recommendation of a work colleague - and it was wonderful. Stumbled across Camere Giuliano online and booked on the basis of the excellent reviews - and it was even better than expected. I honestly cannot fault the accommodation in any way, nor the... more

We absolutely loved staying here and really appreciated the "over the top" hospitality and helpfulness of Giuliano and Michele. Their daughter Sophia is so sweet (watch out for Agatha the cat though :-) ). The location of the rooms offers probably the best views in the town and a uniquely Cinque Terre experience in getting there (be prepared to lug... more

Giuliano and Michele were great hosts...as was precious little Sophia. Wonderful rooms; simple but beautiful, very clean, nice rock work, wonderful patios. Access to several amenities, and everything was explained very well to us. We had two rooms and enjoyed our stay in Vernazza (and all the towns) immensely. Slept well; the running stream outside lulled us to sleep. Good... more

Would highly recommend Vernazza as a base when doing the Cinque Terre. Michele was unable to accommodate me for the dates I required but she was very helpful and recommended an apartment from her friend Ingrid which was very good. I loved the athmosphere in Vernazza, particularly in the mornings when the local traders were stocking up - it was... more

We loved Camere Giuliano! My husband, adult daughter and I had a 2 week trip to Italy from mid March to beginning April, 2009 and Camere Giuliano was the first hotel of 7 that we stayed at and they set the bar high. It was very quiant, clean, quite (except you can hear the train at times), and has a... more

It took three trains and eight hours to reach Vernazza from Venice, but it was worth every mile and minute! We made all our arrangements with Michele, via the internet. The rooms are both unique and lovely--clean and comfortable, with a bit of a Robinson Crusoe feel about them. Upon arriving at the train station, we walked a few steps... more

I just went on a two week Europe trip by myself and had the time of my life. I am a single 28 year old woman. One of my stops was to Cinque terre where I ventured to Vernazza to look for Giulianno Basso's property. I didn't have any reservations for a hotel so I was nervous that I was... more

We were on a budget and carrying backpacks: of average fitness and didn’t care about stairs. Having spent a great deal of time researching the Cinque Terre area we chose Vernazza as our base - for what were two magical days. This is a very special part of the world and we loved our stay at Camere Giuliano. Booking directly... more

14 wonderful days (during my first trip to Europe, Italy) in the perfection of the Giuliano-designed, extremely comfortable, comfortably decorated room(s) with state-of-the-art heating/cooling and bath (and just about at the top of many, many stairs though "train noise" didn't bother me), which prepares you for all the that hiking through the villages and trails and the subsequent respite you'll... more
