The apartment is in a medieval building, so plenty of stairs. We were situated at the back of the building in a cavern-like apartment with only one small window. Furniture was modern, IKEA style. It cost more than our previous Albergo, which had plenty of space, a balcony, breakfast and helpful staff. It also cost more than our 4 star... more

Back in April I was looking for where to stay in Riomaggiore. I inquired with a number of places including Casa di Venere. I must have needed to put a credit card number on their inquiry form, because EVEN THOUGH I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM and wound up reserving and staying at Michielini Rooms (very nice) THEY CHARGED MY... more

On arrival, we were told they did not take Visa and insisted we pay cash or stay elsewhere. This was less than convenient but we were willing to pay cash happily enough. The rooms were okay and location beautiful - Cinque Terre is hard to beat. A few weeks after we left they charged my Visa account and they have... more

We are just back from a 5 nights stay in Riomaggiore and we had an absolutely fantastic time. This b&b helped a bit since it was very clean and apparently newly decorated. It really isn't a b&b as there is no included breakfast. We booked quite late and this was one of the few places that still had rooms left... more

There is almost no correlation between this property in reality and as represented in their photos. Our room looked nothing like the photos: dingy, dark and in ill-repair...outlets hanging out of the wall, door on the rather strange shower falling off. As for the surroundings, you are in an alley so narrow you can touch the buildings on both sides.... more

We stayed at Casa di Venere for one night in early June. Thankfully it was just one night. Our room was spacious but it smelled horribly. It smelled like a cat had sprayed in there. It was so bad that we had to buy some air freshener at a nearby store. The management didn't seem too concerned when we told... more

La Casa di Venere was interesting. When you get to Riomaggiore, you don't go to the hotel, you go to their office, which is on via Colombo, where they will great you (and hopefully have you're room...not us.. they lost our reservation, but gave us a better room, which was nice). My impression is that there are a bunch of... more

Fabulous place to stay, recently redecorated , a very comfortable place to stay. Our room was more spacious than many we stayed in in Italy. Lots of stairs and steep roads to climb up, along with everywhere else in Riomaggiore, this is what Riomaggiore is. We would have loved to have been able to stay longer, perhaps on the next... more

We stayed at the Casa di Venere in early June and once we were settled quite enjoyed it. It is well situated, close to the tunnel to the rail station and the path that leads to the next town of Manorola Pluses- We stayed in room #5-- a large double with an extra single bed and private bath--obviously newly refurbished... more
