I had the pleasure to find this gem of an apartment disguised as a hostel!! I booked with hostel world which described it as a 10 bedroom dorm which is really not giving them enough credit. This is a huge spacious apartment with a huge wonderful terrace where I spent a lot of time gazing down into the city and... More

Mar-Mar was in a great location, very close to the tunnel that leads from the town to the train station. It was small, but we didn't need much space because we would be outside most of our visit anyway. The view was awesome, and the apartment was neat and clean. The man who was renting it out was nice and... More

We stayed at the Punta A Apartment for two nights. We checked in at Bar O'Netto and the gentleman led us up and down (mostly up) a zillion uneven steps. The apartment has a small living area, kitchen area, separate bedroom with king bed, and a small bathroom with shower. The apartment was clean. There was an assortment of pots,... More

This place was awesome! When I first arrived, a lovely old Italian man took me up what felt like 3000 steps that were pretty much vertical. The beds are small and right next to each, no bunks. There are two bathrooms & little post it notes everywhere with messages about the dos/don't s of the hostel. The whole place is... More

Stayed in Riomaggiore for 2 nights with bf, booked a hostel room which was nice and cheap. The hostel itself is pretty basic but what you get for that sort of price. The owner Mario was fantastic and made the hostel, he was so helpful to us. We drove a car and the car had a flat tyre, he offered... More

I was a little confused as to what sort of accomodation this was, but based on the reviews, decided to go for it. Let me say first, the views are spectacular! So apparently this is an apartment building with most of the apartments occupied by locals and several apartments that are rented out to tourists. We drove over from Florence... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mar Mar but it's important to have the right expectations if you plan to stay here. If you want an apartment with a balcony and a wonderful view, with basic facilities that is nestled in amongst apartments owned by locals...then I would highly recommend it. If you want a plush apartment with all mod... More

My sister and I stayed for three nights and enjoyed our time immensely. The room had four squeaky cots but a nice balcony and basic kitchen. We loved going right across the street to the little market for calimari, pesto, and a cheap bottle of local wine and having a little feast :) We also found ourselves staring out the... More

I loved the town of Riomaggiore, just not this hostel. Beds are literally old cots, there are no lockers, no bag storage and no fans. To top it off it is very noisy-especially in the afternoons because there is a school playground right below it. If you have any concern for your bags or quality of sleep I'd recommend looking...
