We have been traveling in France, Spain and Italy since the beginning of March, recently stayed in Vernazza one of our return-to places that has become overrun with hoards of visitors and lost the charm that we discovered twenty-five years ago. We made the coast path hike and found Monterosso to be more agreeable in many respects, dining, beach, shopping... More

This hotel is perfectly positioned in the centre of the old town close to many restaurants and quaint little shops. It's super clean and has its own bar, where after a long day exploring is a perfect spot for a refreshment. I don't think many other hotels in the area have a bar on premises. The rooms are very spacious... More

We just recently spent a few days at the Hotel Margherita in Monterossa Al Mare, one of the Cinque Terra cities. Arriving there by train from Milan it was a short cab ride through the tunnel and up the hill a bit to the hotel. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Checked into a top floor room with... Stayed here for two nights March of 2015. Despite the raining cold weather this hotel was the bright spot on the trip. Located in the center of old town it had the "quaintness" the wife loved and the comfy feel I liked. The gent in charge (I assume the owner/manager 'cause he was always there) answered all our questions, made... More

The Margherita is one of those rare places where the reality is actually better than the expectation. What you see on the website simply doesn’t do this hotel justice…everything about it is so much better when you actually arrive. The hotel is located right at the very entrance to Monterosso, yet still a short 5 minute stroll to the ocean. On... More

Last October 15 of my friends and I stayed in this hotel and I am sorry that it has taken me so long to write this review because there was nothing we could fault it on. From the moment we arrived we were given extra special treatment as the management had laid on welcome drinks with nibbles. Our rooms were... More

Newly refurbished, very clean, nice rooms, friendly staff and a good breakfast. Great spot outside to sit, have a drink and watch the Main Street happenings. A very quiet location, but only 5 minute walk to the beach and ferry, 12 to the station and new town/beach. Plenty of cafe's, restaurant's and shops on the door step. Can recommend the... More

Went here on a first time trip to Italy based on our sons recommendation. This hotel is a short walk up from train station. Centrally located in this small village. Restaurants all around us, bank, ATM,3 doors up, laundry 6 doors up. Just a great location. Nice little balcony for stealing my cigars. Great full satisfying breakfast even for us... More

This is a wonderful hotel, directions were clear and location was perfect. Rooms were clean and spacious and we had a balcony overlooking the lemon trees behind the hotel. The hotel is modern, trendy and clean. Breakfast was continental style but a great selection. Service was excellent and it was a wonderful place to come back to after a long... More

Arriving by train we were skeptical about finding the hotel but the directions on the website directed us right to their door. Bright, clean, modern lobby that was very inviting. The manager checked us in and gave us all the information about the hotel and where we could grab dinner in town. The free breakfast provided many choices and the... More
